Offline | Changing to an S ! Thought I'd stick up a post to say Hi, Been running a Cooper for just under three years, coming up to 50,000 miles so figured I'd check out the P/X options. Well, bit of a result in as much as I've ordered a new S for the same payments as the Cooper, decent residuals it seems Ordered it in October, picking it up Saturday. Not actually driven an S yet so should be interesting, Spec is:- Red with black roof and bonnet stripes, Chilli Pack, 'Proper' Air Con Half Leather, HK Upgrade, Also went with darkened glass, but I'm thinking that might be a bit 'Pimp my Ride', still, too late now. Its going straight down to have the godawful runflats swapped for some eagle F1's, and once run in I'll be getting it chipped. Had my Cooper Superchipped after running that in, and have had no problems at all, the increased fuel economy has paid for the mod ten fold. Was going to stick with Superchips, but might try BBR for the S as they claim a bigger power increase. Will post my thought on the differences between the two, as I get used to it. Cheers |

Offline | I am swapping my Cooper for a Cooper S too. My cooper was red with a black roof and black bonnet stripes which i think is a great colour combo, i nearly ordered the same colour combo for my cooper s, but needed a change, so i have gone for the checkmate. I did test drive the cooper s, and the most noticeable difference is the smoother more precise gear change, and the low-down power. As your will appreciate with the cooper not much happens below 4000 revs, but the 'S' really improves the situation. I also loved the whirr of the supercharger. Good luck with your new car. Offline | Good luck with the cars both of you! I have ordered a Chili Red MCS with... tada... black roof and bonnet stripes. It looks great on the pictures I have seen, so hope it's even better in "real life". ![]() ![]() Elvind's Chili Red MINI Cooper S |

Offline | Know exactly what you mean Matt, my Cooper is Indi Blue, with white roof and stripes, which I've been really pleased with, but also needed a change. Made a bit easier however, as Indi blue is no longer available, my other choice was Pepper White with black, but I'm not sure I could have lived with the White long term (too much cleaning) Thanks for the best wishes everyone. |
