| Hah and i was thinking of starting one... Why wasnt there a Chili Red registry before?! I just got my car a lil over 2 weeks ago. CR/B MCS, sport package, premium package, lsd, nav, black bonnet stripes, 17" S lites, aero grille (on top only), black leatherette, anthracite dash. I never knew a red car could look THIS GOOD! washed and waxed my baby over the weekend, looks AWESOME. i'm just afraid of the color fading too much and turning orange later, but with the right care should be okay. Chili red is the best color!! |

Offline | All MCS's are Red.... ,,,,the rest are just mistakes! Seriously, there's a thread somewhere under general discussion that I started using a similar tagline, and it created quite a controversial discussion, as you may well imagine! (Actually it's a line I stole from a Corvette engineer, who, when asked what color the first C5 Corvette should be painted, replied, "All Corvettes are red, the rest are just mistakes. Paint it red.") At any rate, here's a small thumbnail of mine. 2004 CR/W MCS MC40 #199. Sports package, front and rear fogs, R90 17" Anthracite, carbon fibre dash, all the chrome MINI could find, rubber rally floor mates, red and black leather interior, etc etc. Removed all the stickers except the one on the bonnet. This is the first RED car I've ever owned, and I was a bit trepiditious about it at first--my father referred to it as the proverbial "write-me-a-ticket red." But I've had it for 16 months and only one ticket so far. I like the white roof, it really sets the red off, but it may be more conspicuous than the CR/B combo. More importantly, it's trick and classic looking--and probably will be in 20 years. Oh, and no fading at all after 16 months and 33,000 miles; it's still a deep, vibrant color (just make sure you park WAY far out in parking lots--avoid Ding City! |

Offline | My wife and I own a 2003 MCS with the chili pack 17 inch wheels and 6 stacker CD changer.I have had the car fitted with a 15% reduction pulley. Best value for $ invested. When driving out West from Newcastle to Binnaway the winding road climbing out of the Hunter valley allows the MCS to be seen at its best. The whine from the supercharger would bring a tear to a glass eye and the road holding capability of the car often sees larger engined cars left behind. Passing those B doubles is an absolute joy as you drop down the box to 4th gear hit the loud pedal and pass the cab touching 160 km/Ph. How easy it is to just want to spend every weekend driving one of the best engineered cars on the market. I know I'm a mini tragic. |

Offline | I've had my 2004 CR/W MCS since May 2004. No fading to the paint at all. The red is clearcoated so it won't oxidize the way single-stage red paint does. Well, that and I wash it weekly (at least) and polish it monthly. If anything, I'll probably wear the paint off of it. It has no options other than what comes standard in the USA (boost radio w/CD, A/C.) It came with bonnet stripes but they've since been removed. I've since added 5Zigen wheels with Toyo Proxes 4 tyres, Ian's auto-up circuit and MTH. His - 04 CR/W MCS Hers - 05 BEP/W MCS |

Offline | I gave up a Chipped 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg for my Mini. The Jetta was probably a bit faster being chipped but the Mini handles way better. Lots more fun to drive. I love this car. 2005 MCS, Chili Red Black, Sport Package, LSD, Chrono Pack, Leatherette, Rear Fog, Web Spokes, 6-Speed |

Offline | A picture can speak a thousand words! (Check personal gallery) My dad had a 91 J reg mini Cooper that looked exactly the same, so I had to follow and it does get some lovely looks and comments. Downside - I love driving it and its recently covered 10200 miles since I picked it up on May 7th 2005 but they have been great fun and best memories to date are taking it Normandy for the 61st D-Day anniversary, it certainly got some looks then! Also met some of the real veterans from Band of Brothers, how superb? Stonechips are a pain, recently got a scratch on both doors from stones being flung up from the wheels. Does anyone have the mudguards? Do they help and how do they look? Pics would be most welcome! Cheers ![]() |

Offline | Cool! Did you like the Nissan Primera 1.8 Sport ? I think it's okay with sufficient enginepower and space. It's quite different from the Mini though. I'm getting bonnett stripes if it was me you asked. ![]() Elvind's Chili Red MINI Cooper S |

Offline | Yeah, the Nissan was OK, my Ex is still driving it now as I bought it of the company, Separation lawers Huh I always thought it could use more power, as the chassis was pretty darn good, as you say, completely different to the Mini though.Glad to hear you're going with stripes, makes the car stand out from the crowd ![]() |
