nah not really the cheapest, i'd suggest shopping around. It cost me 58USD to ship to australia..there might be other stores who buy it from alta and sell it cheaper...

their web address is www.altaminiperformance.com

Good luck

I vote for ALTA too, but do a for CAI or cold air intake and you should find plenty of reference.

how does the bmp rank up?
there is a special on them at the moment, in the range of $130 from on of the mini parts suppliers that i cant remember at the moment. i would like the alta too but this seems like a decent kit and well priced. yes/no?

If its any help, I have an Alta CAI and the difference it makes is quite something. The car is a lot more responsive ( makes me wonder how the car was getting any air at all when I took out the original panel filter) and the sound is far better.
I would imagine it also makes for better MPG.
Now fiited with my new Milltek its a glorious sound front and back.
Go for it and enjoy.

Dark Silver/Black MCS (Carlisle) - Now Stopped Drooling..............Now sitting in Lloyds MINI very cherished dept!!

Yeh, pretty easy. Just take your time and follow the instructions and you cant go wrong.
Took me about 1 hr to remove stock filter and housing and install the Alta filter, heatshield etc.
You get quite a shock first time you fire the car up and press the accelerator and all you hear is a big sucking sound from the Alta..........bloody good though.
Thing is all you want to do from then on is put your foot to the floor for the soundtrack.
