Offline | Picking her up tomorrow! Hi everyone Thought I would wait for the R56, but after seeing it, driving it, spending loads of time around it and trying desperately to get it to grow on me, I just can't bring myself to fork out the extra for it. Not crazy about the exterior looks and lack of SC whine in particular. Might be a "better" car, but it's just not for me. Anyway, enough about that, it's all been said before... So...after much searching I found myself a perfect example of a checkmate S. 9000Km on the clock, had her checked out by the AA and BMW and all seems well. Picking her up tomorrow. I can hardly wait. Finally I can get rid of the Smart! Peter |

Offline | Good evening! It has taken all my powers of will not to post in here for the last couple of weeks, but I picked my Checkmate up yesterday, trading my old DS/W S in for it. It's June 06 with 16k on the clock. It's got all the usual bits n bobs, and also: Heated Recaros (just awesome!) Electric folding wing mirrors (good toy!) Heated washer jets Multifunction steering wheel (sooooo handy) Cruise control H/K 6 changer in the boot I brought my R105s from the DS, and got the guys at David Prentice to put the Aerokit on. Swapped my stubby aerial too, and put silver look bulbs in the front indicators and PIAA LED sidelights in this morning. Nice touch too is the way it has been programmed to turn the headlights off when the key is taken out, so if I leave them in the 'on' position, they come on automatically when I start the car up, SAAB stylee ![]() A few little plans for it (so much for the "this one's staying standard" nonsense), but the bank balance is going to need to whimper in the corner, licking its wounds for a couple of months ![]() Thanks to Aaron in DP for sending me the almost daily MMS updates (causing me no end of sleepless-with-excitement nights )Getting the Aerokit on: The pics he sent me the day before (causing a child-at-Christmas jumping round the room squealing type reaction )And picking it up yesterday (in perfect dry-roads-and-sunny weather )I do have more pics, but I've managed to upload them from my camera to some secret hidden folder that I cannot for the life of me find on the lappie, so if and when I should find them, I'll get 'em up ![]() Also need to get some taken of the fab Recaros ![]() ![]() |
