Offline | Service Intervals ! Firstly Hi to everyone, I just joined Today, and am looking forward to Contributing to these Forums in the Future. But firstly, I have just Bought an Cooper S, Fully Loaded, Sat Nav, Panoramic Roof, Cruise, Full Leather, etc, etc 02 Reg with 68k on the Clock Yes I know thats a lot of miles, I have taken out a 12month Warranty But I wanted one that has Nearly Everything... I Love this Car to Bits, Ride is a bit hard with the 17" Alloys, but apart from that it`s a Great little Car My Question is this It had the Tlc Pack which ran out at 50000 Mls and has had all the correct servicing done according to the Dealers Computer. But allthough I have all the Handbooks etc, none give me a Mileage at which the car requires servicing! Do you just go by the remaining miles displayed on the Speedo just after switching the ign on! How do you know when a Major service is Due for instance. Sorry if this question sounds dumb, I used to have the Old Style Cooper S with an osselli 1400cc tuned engine "now that was awsome" downside was 8mpg Kind Regards to all Steve... |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | The car works out when the service is due. There are no set intervals hence why it isn't in the manual. The mileage you see when the ignition is switched on is really only a guideline. If you drive quick and do lots of short journeys the mileage will go down quicker. If you do lots of long motorway cruises then the mileage will take longer to go down. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

Offline | it works out the service intervals by how many litres of fuel that is used and compares it to the distance traveled. so say if you drive it hard or have somthing on tow it works out that you need to have your car serviced sooner than if you drive slowly . |
