hi i was just wondering if i can use any type of oil in my mcs can anyone help

Don't just put any type of oil in! Most modern cars need very specific oils due to finer manufacturing tolerances/longer service intervals etc...

I think the Cooper S uses Castrol SLX 0W30 Longlife oil. Its about £15 per litre or £50 per gallon.

As an alternative, Lucas Oils do a 0W30 longlife oil which exceeds all BMW's specs for £12 per litre or £35ish per gallon (4.55litres)

If it needs topping up it's best to follow what it says in the manual so it's the right weight and type.
