Having sold my Cooper last February and deeply regretted the decision, I've been fancying getting back into a Mini for some time. Have found a low mileage Cooper S (will be nice to have the extra power) at a dealers with the right spec, which was registered in July 2005. The details on the advert list all of the extras, including the all importnat Chili pack, but there's no mention of a Limited Slip Diff. Is the car likely to have an LSD, or would people have been likely to order the Chili pack, but not bother with the LSD?

Also, does anyone know when the auto lights were introduced? The car has the Visibility pack and the low windscreen washl light on the rigt hand stalk, but I'm not sure if it's got the auto lights.

Sorry for the questions, it's just that I was at work when I spoke to the dealer and I was trying to be discreet, so I couldn't go into too much detail. Hopefully I'll get a chance to inspect the car onSaturday before making a decision.

As far as I can remember it was a £100 option for build dates from January 2005 on. It was part of the Chilli pack from that date. It will be on the spec the dealer has listed in detail (the spec of the car lists each option even if part of a pack). I suspect though if it's not in the spec for some reason it's not on the car!

It was first synthesized in 1938 by Swiss chemist Dr. Albert Hofmann at the Sandoz Laboratories in Basel as part of a large research program searching for medically useful ergot alkaloid derivatives. Its psychedelic properties were unknown until 5 years later, when Hofmann, acting on a hunch, returned to work on the chemical. Is the LSD a worthwile fit, i am currently speccing up a new cooper S but have heard many people complaing about noises coming from theirs, is it worth having it on your car though even if ya have traction control?!?!

I have a Jan. 05 mini with the visibilty pack & it has auto lights, just twist the light stack down instead of upwards. I think it also has auto printed on it.

I love having it on my car and feel it (paired with the traction control) has saved me ***** a few times when I was trying to do more than the car would allow.

I was gutted mines a 54 reg Dec 2004 build missed out on the LSD and the larger washer bottle by one month!

Cheers guys for the response - I'm just waiting for the dealer to calll me back to see if they can accomodate the deal that I want. If they can, I'll check the car out tomorrow and all being well, should be able to pick it up next weekend.

Fingers crossed the car is as good as they say.

Me too! I ordered mine in the July, its a pain in the a*s when you think "If only I'd waited another month..."

Excellent news, saw the car today and it's got all the latest stuff - LSD, auto lights, low washer warning light.

The car was as new, so all being well I should get my new (to me) Cooper S next weekend. Getting excited already!
