Ok, there have been so many conversations (would that be the right word ) comparing the Cooper S to the Type R etc... what everyone is forgetting is that the Cooper S is a Marquee Car.
It came out a long time ago and flogged all the great cars of the period in races like Le Mans....
Here in Australia the Mini Cooper S still holds the most comprehensive win ever on the Mount Panorama Circuit (arguably the best race track in the world) which is a six hour event. The Mini Cooper S took out the top 12 places...

What we are talking about is a lineage that not only has a history of excellent handling, but also has the runs on the board to make it a legend...

All these other cars, although good, do not have the same lineage and therefore the same mystique surrounding there name...

PS. My Cooper S with JCW Kit will kick the ass of any Type R that wishes to give it a go
