Smile Test Drive & ASC+T

I was able to test drive a Cooper S for the first time this past Saturday. The demo was a basic cooper S w/17" rims. Up until my test drive I had been wondering if the DSC would be necessary option. During my test drive I had the opportunity to ride on the highway and tested out the handling off a pretty tight cornered highway exit. As I exited the highway and went around the corner a little too fast, I braked lightly and the ASC+T kicked in corrected the position of the car. It was super cool!

DSC is very different to ASC+T though, much more useful if you ask me.

I have ASC+T, but the Cooper S I drive every know and again has DSC, the DSC comes on more often than the ASC, but you often wouldn't know but for the flickering warning light.

If you were braking its unlikely to be the ASC+T. It would be the CBC - Cornering Brake Control. I've experienced it too and as you say it is cool and very effective.

IMO

IMO all the electronic gizzmos for 'safty' kick in far to early.

Ordered Sept 2001,

Sorry, Cancelled my order with 30 days to go. After multiple test drives and hammerings it is not the car I had hoped it would be or what I am looking for.

I must admit the ABS seems very sensitive, though this is the first car I've had with ABS.
