I probably don't belong here, since I *just* own a regular Cooper, but I had to get the stripes. My input is that if you get stripes, go with a constrasing color. I have a dark paint (Indy Blue) with white stripes. Black stripes would not have stood out as much.

On a separate, but related, topic, what about door pin-stripes? Any suggestions?

They should look great. Was concerned about call attention to the car so I got the alarm system also.

Somebody on this forum has that single stripe thing going on, and it looks great. I'll try to find them.

The reason I like the factory bonnet stripes is that they evoke memories of Classic Minis in their racing attire. I've never been partial to adding stripes to cars before. When some random decals are added to make a car look "cool" I'm turned off. At least the factory stripes (or any stripes in the same position) are a wink and a nod to the past.

The "down-the-middle" stripe is done by lots of mfrs. and IMO is kinda' bland. In fact, in the States I see them all over the place - on VWs, Hyundais, Chryslers, pick-up trucks, boats, etc. The factory stripes are distinctive and don't cry out "LOOK AT ME! I'M GONNA' SMOKE YOU AT THE NEXT LIGHT! YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME? COME ON!"

Getting the white stripes to match the roof and mirrors on my LY MCS. Now I can go buy a model from MINIUSA that matches my car!
