Offline | Limited Slip Diff Does anyone know if the LSD is standard or an extra on the S model ? and when was introduced to the earlier models or has it always been standard or an extra Just out of curiousity |

Offline | It depends on the country. For example, from January 2005 builds the LSD has been standard fitment on Cooper Ss delivered to Australia at no extra charge. AFAIK it is a pretty cheap option in other markets. It may have been available in other markets a bit sooner than it was in Australia, but the LSD certainly wasn't an option at all until, at least, the latter part of 2004. ![]() |

Offline | Introduced in the Model Year 2005, when the cars were facelifted. Only available on the Manual transmissions and was part of the Chili pack (admittedly for an unavoidable extra £100). |

Offline | In the UK it definitely appeared in Janaury 2005 builds onwards only (as part of Chili pack or otherwise optional). I was quite gutted at the time having waited so long for my (facelifted) September 2004 build. Pretty sure that Jan 2005 was the earliest it appeared in any territory too. |
