Offline | Range Hiya I have MCS with AeroKit, Alta Induction Kit, new wheels / tyres - and found something bizarre the other day. I decided to drive sedately to work (down the M1), and the "Range" remaining for the car, which normally sits around the 250 miles mark, started rising. By the end of the journey it was standing at 390 miles (Given I'd just driven 40 miles), that gives a total range of 430 miles. Given I've used a full tank of petrol in as little as 150 miles, that came as quite a surprise. I've not managed to get the tank actually last 400 miles yet, as going home I put my foot down (just a teeny bit) - and town driving doesn't help, but have managed 350 miles on the tank. I was wondering what the "norm" was for a MCS? Cheers Stuart |

Offline | Using only the trip computer Ive had between 7L/100kms to 10L/100kms. It varies according to your driving style the ambient conditions. To obtain a true figure you would need to record distance each time you filled the tank and the fuel actually consumed. Also I think it may change if you use different rated fuel ![]() |

Offline | Normally I get 250 from a tank. However the other day for no apparent reason I did 297 and still had 5 litres left in (20-30 miles) when i filled it...bizzare! Especially in the hot weather when you would think burn would be rubbish and economy would go down! |

Offline | everytime i have fill my Cooper s up the trip computer on the sat nav says the range is about 350miles, but i normally average 280 miles! although i have managed 40mpg a couple of times! the one thing i have noticed is that the trip computer on the sat nav seems alot more accurate than the normal one! does anybody notice a difference on the fuel type used - normal or super ??? ![]() 2002 COOPER / 2003 ONE D / 2003 COOPER S |

| Eat my dust. | My range thingy is usually pretty accurate, as I drive the car in a very similar fashion every day. I'm currently getting less than 200 miles from a full tank though... ![]() Now driving a 2006 Brabus Roadster Coupe PW/B Cooper S Works has gone to its new home! |

Offline | I run my Checmate Cooper S on Shells Optimax and everytime I have filled her up the range of the fuel increases (especially after the run-in period and an oil change). The most range I have achieved out of a tank is 370 after filling her up. On average get about 330 miles out of the tank which 'aint bad and that is not like driving Miss Daisy ![]() |

Offline | all I know ismine does 27-28mpg round the doors and high 30s on a run. Never actually check how far I go incase it annoys me. I only use range when I'm low down on fuel, and always fill up with 60ish miles to go. ![]() |

Offline | i think it also depends on how u use the gears, for me to get 230miles to a tank would mean a heavy right foot !!! I do make use of 6th gear alot which does help the mpg ![]() 2002 COOPER / 2003 ONE D / 2003 COOPER S |

Offline | I got 380miles out of a tank on a run to Norwich earlier this week, and when I filled up, the fuel light had only just come on. I reckon I could have got 400miles out of the tank had I waited a bit before filling up. This is on Tesco 97RON. |
