Offline | 17" Wheel production delay My first post here, please be gentle. My dealer called today to say that due to the unforecast popularity of the Cooper S Chili pack, there is a shortage of 17" wheels which will result in an approximate 6 week delay in delivering my car. The due date was 15th Sept. I was offered 16" wheels and a £250 price reduction as an alternative to keep the dates on track which I declined. My question is has anyone else had this call? |

Offline | I called mini yesterday to get a status check of my MCS. The said it was built but not yet released from the factory. I had the 17" silver S lites on it and I don't think there was any problems with it (i Hope). |

Offline | I was at my dealer yesterday and was told my MCS delivery has been put back a week to 28 Aug. When I asked if this was due to the shortage of wheels I was told no as my order was okay but orders placed just after mine have been affected. It seems cars due for delivery from Sept on are the ones affected by the wheel shortage. |

Offline | I just rang a dealer and they said if you choose the S Chilli pack it mentions that the delivery date is unknown. Hyper Blue/Blue MCSC with Chilli 'No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself' A. Carnegie |

Offline | I am just so glad my MCS hasn't been affected by this Just In Time cockup (or at least so far it hasn't ) as I don't even want the S-spokes as I've ordered the R90s anyway. To think that my car could be held up by the shortage of a component I'm having to spend time trying to sell on would be crazy. Why they don't offer R90's as a factory option I just don't know. It would solve all these JIT problems, give the customer what he wants and they could still make a healthy profit margin. Everyone would be happy. I don't understand how BMW/MINI couldn't predict this level of demand for the Chilli Pak and the potential for a supply problem. The majority of buyers were always going to want a well equipped MCS. It finishes off a car that is beating many many cars twice its price or more. |

Offline | THe delivery date for my MCS has also been put back a week to the 28 August. THere was no explanation which is frustrating. I knew this would happen since it is exactly what happened with the Cooper after launch. BMW should have learnt from that experience. Obviously they didn't. Still hoping for a 1st Sept delivery but I wouldn't put any money on it. |

Offline | My dealer said 11 of his customers are going to have 6-8 week delays, but... I'm not one of them and my Cooper S is still scheduled for build the week starting 09/09, for delivery 24/09! I suppose some good has come of putting off delivery while waiting for the H/K and visibility pack after all ![]() |

Offline | I've just been to my dealers for another S test drive ![]() ...and to boot this time I went out with the lovely Sarah ![]() Sorry guys no piccies ![]() With regards to the 17s, MINI are now offering what is called a "pepperoni" pack which is similar to the chilli minus the 17s and £250. This is to releive the 17s demand and give buyers a chance to get 16s if they arern't happy with the harder ride of the 17s. I think this is a good solution by BMW to solve the problem ![]() I give them a thumbs up for this speedy solution, others may not agree though ![]() MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those.............
