Smile Unexpected surprises

What unexpected suprises or deign delights did you get with your Mini Cooper S (not garage freebies)?

I got LEDs at the end of the chrome foglight switches - green front orange rear (exceptionally nice design detail)

This sounds daft, but when you have the windscreen wipers on intermitent, the rear hatch wiper sweeps once every three front screen wipes - and the front and rear wipers are in sync.

And when you have the front wipers on constant, the rear wiper still sweeps every third wipe and still in sync!

Keeps me entertained for hours at red lights! LOL and the rain we've had this week! 1 inch in 10 minutes on Wednesday and another inch today in 10 minutes

It's electric blue and it's really very speedy

I was surprised by the low fuel light. If you don't know where it is, get your car low on fuel and be surprised! (assuming you missed it completely in the Owner's Manual like I did )

The de-mist feature actually demisting the car within 5 or 10 seconds.

Those foglight switches

The toolkit (a screwdriver, a spanner, and a towing hook if you can't fix the problem with the aforementioned )

Not seen the rear wipers work in sync with the front ones - thought I'd had to activate them seperately - but then, with a healthy dose of rainX on the windscreen I haven't used them much even in this week's rain.

Ordered my "S" August '01. Arrived July '02. EB with white roof, wheels and stripes, Chili pack, DSC and climate control. Hate those 17" runflats though.

Can now be seen all over the West Midlands, as a blue blur passing everything at speed

Here's a new one I discovered last night:

Sitting in my MINI in the dark with the lights and engine off, I pushed the odometer trip reset button on the speedometer to check the car's miles, and doing that causes something else to light up..... the clock. So it's easy to check the time when the car is off.

With the wipers on, I switched off the ignition, and the wipers returned to their rest position rather than freezing on the windshield.

Hey, even Superman has to go his Fortress of Solitude sometimes.

Besides, sitting in the MINI in the garage is a nice place to listen to music. Loud music!

To keep the theme of this thread, did you know the radio works for about 20 minutes at a time without having to use the key?

Wifey decides to stay in car at grocery store. Turn off engine. Radio can still be turned on and off.

Able to pass cars with ease (well, that should not really be a surprise, but I'm coming from a 95 Ford Escort Wagon!)

Picked up 12 July 2002. 69,000 rev happy miles Autocrossing in G Stock this year!!!

My biggest shock was how silent it is when running. And it costs nothing to own!

Oh...wait...I haven't taken delivery yet. Sorry.

I am amazed by how stable my MCS at 80 mph on the Interstate! My Pontiac GP is not as solid on the road!
