Question Can these 17" rims be added at the dealer?

Just wondering if 17" rims can be added at the dealer at the normal $600 upgrade cost once the car has arrived. My dealer has 17" rims that are a spoke design that IS an offical MINI rim however they are not featured in any brochure or on the web site yet that I've seen. I'm sure you all know which ones i'm talking about. Anybody know? I could just call my dealer, but didn't want to bother him as I've been bothering him a little too much lately.

I'm sure the dealer can fit 17" wheels and tires. Just not sure what the price is giong to be. Could be well above the $600. Dealer may not want to take the wheels you have back as trade-ins.

There is always eBay.

Those are R90 wheels ... MSRP is $387.75 apiece or $2,565.00 a set (with tires) at the dealer.

The 17" (R85) wheels that are a $600 option from the factory, list for $227.75 apiece at the dealer. The 16" (R84) wheels that come standard from the factory, list for $181.50 apiece at the dealer. Figure another $200 and $250 apiece for 16" and 17" run-flat tires respectively.

You can ask your dealer to trade you R85 wheels and tires for your R84 wheels and tires plus $600, but based on the above pricing, you'd be getting the short end of the stick.

Yeah, those are the R90's I have on my car.

Here's the way Westchester MINI handled it:

I have the sport package on my car. So I just paid for the R90 wheels, not the wheels and tires. I paid the price for the wheels from the accessory catalog and then I paid for the labor to swap the runflats over from my S-Lites. Westchester then had all four s-lites wrapped up and sitting in the back of the car when I picked it up.

That's the most honest, fair, and reasonable way I have seen to get the R90's.
