Offline | Pics of my new yellow on yellow cooper S Those who are interested, here's some pics of my new yellow S I picked up last Friday. http://www.mini2.com/gallery/persona...?gallery=rei00 No problems except Tire flat monitor and DSC light came on for a while and went out for no reason at all. Also, front bottom black (plastic one) grill is pushed in slightly - shouldn't be a problem pushing it back out. The biggest problem I have is I am relatively inexperienced manual driver and I stalled engine about five times - Anyone know if this will damage the engine? I am getting better though. Additionally, I though S came with colored front grills??? --------------------------------------- Cooper S with Cold weather, Fog lamps, MFSW, DSC, PDC, Xenon, OBC, BMP intake, All Liquid Yellow. |

Offline | Re: Pics of my new yellow on yellow cooper S I thought so too. Maybe the yellow is different for some reason? Or maybe your dealer swapped it out for chrome? In any case - looks good! Chip H. ex-MINI Cooper S owner and all around good-guy |

Offline | Yes, the S should come with a body-colored grille. Interesting. Perhaps this is a running change, or more likely, perhaps it's just a production error and they put the wrong grille on at the factory ![]() |

Offline | Wow, that is unusual. First, yellow on yellow is cool. But to have gotten the chromed front grill is very interesting. Every S I've seen has the body colored grill - They're supposed to. I see you got your car from MINI of Sterling so we will look forward to seeing you at some MINI events. Enjoy! Picked up 12 July 2002. 69,000 rev happy miles Autocrossing in G Stock this year!!! |

Offline | I agree, it looks good!! Looks like your dealer has swapped the top section of the grille for the chromed cooper section, but has missed the lower grille slat! the Cooper S top grille is meant to be coloured and only have 3 slats, where as the cooper has 4 chromed slats. just ring up the parts department and order the lower slat, its about 15 english quid, so it wont set you back that much, plus youll have a very individual S!! Hold on, ive got a plan!! |

Offline | Rei, Could you please find out from your dealer why (and how) they managed to get you the Chrome grill? And if he has any info if MINI plan that as an option. That is an option if offered I would surely go for. Nice ride BTW.... MINE!! on 10/18/02 - IB/W Cooper S, White Bonnet Stripes, Premium - Sport - Cold, Lapis Blue interior, Nav, Rally Lamps, 17" White Spokes. Wouldn't change a thing.... |

Offline | sjjn, I called my dealer MINI of sterling, who is great BTW, who was just as purplexed as me. She did say that when I come in, she will take a look at it and call MINIusa to clear up a few things and perhaps install bottom slat as chrome, too. It all depends since I right now on bad side of dealer for messing up their paperwork. oops. ![]() --------------------------------------- Cooper S with Cold weather, Fog lamps, MFSW, DSC, PDC, Xenon, OBC, BMP intake, All Liquid Yellow. |

Offline | Gorgeous! Looks like it should say "Have A Nice Day" underneath it! I LOVE the chrome grill. I would be psyched to have that as an option. Does anyone know how expensive/easy it would be to change out the body colored grill for a chrome one? Can't be too difficult if someone "accidentally" put it on this S!2003 Indi Blue S with White Roof White Bonnet Stripes Premium/Sport(with 16"s)/Cold Park Assist 6 MONTHS OF WAITING IS OVER!!! |

Offline | Love that Yellow S! I wouldn't even bother changing out the bottom slat. I think it looks great just the way it is. I'm getting Yellow/White S and I would LOVE to have a chrome grill. I want it! I Want It! I WANT IT!!!! Offline | Nice car, yours is the first I have seen all yellow. The grill mixup is interesting, I guess for all the computers and robotics there still is human error involved? Nice to see the English haven't lost their touch for putting the wrong parts on (please don't flame me, I know American made cars are the same). My Triumph TR8 came from the factory with a TR7 steering wheel and wheels from a TR7 Spider. I'd certainly get them to replace that bottom yellow fin if you stay with the chrome grill. Certainly unique. Makes me wonder what my Cooper S will look like in a couple of weeks? I wouldn't worry about the Tire flat monitor and DSC light, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it may stay on for a bit when you fill your tires or change tires until it adjusts itself. BTW, nice color if I say so myself... ![]() Mark 2002 MCS LY/B |

Offline | I agree that yellow is the best color also. I wish my S had the chrome grille. It looks great. That would be great if the cooper grille fits the S. I thought about having mine chromed, but if this is an option, time to check out the price at the dealer. What do you think about yellow with the flairs painted body color?http://www.mini2.com/gallery/persona...an/image01.jpg |

Offline | Very nice, I like it. I also like your window tinting, I'm thinking about getting my windows tinted, besides being practical down here in the hot and sunny south it really looks good with yellow. Mark 2002 MCS LY/B |

Offline | Come off it. Someone would have noticed a grille was wrong before it left the factory !!. I would be asking some VERY serious questions of your dealer, particularly as you mention problems with a pushed in panel at the front. You've paid a small fortune, and waited half a life time for your car, it should be PERFECT. Apart from that, it looks very smart. Cheers ![]() |

| MINI2 Master | Agreed Basil, that car looks wrong. Since chrome or body coloured slats isn't merely the issue - it's three slats vs. four, and the bottom slat is wider than the chrome ones, and body painted. Someone should have noticed it. While I certainly don't mind the chrome grill, actually I prefer it, the S should have three chrome slats on the top to look right. Chilli Red/White Cooper S, Sport Pack & Sunroof.
