I saw this on eBay, currently at £50!?

eBay.co.uk: BMW MINI carbon fibre bonnet (item 160105960828 end time 17-Apr-07 11:17:29 BST)

Sounds almost too good to be true by the price these usually sell for.

Not sure I'd get away with that mod to our S, I think it will clash with the Electric Blue a little too!

If I still had my old red S I might be bargaining for it!

Must be the same one that hey_pyscho has got for sale in the classifieds (he knows the seller i think).

I'd like to see the photos of the damage before I make my mind up though, interesting to see what it makes ?

Would be interesting, as I thought the one hey_psycho was touting in an earlier thread was going for £400.

Always dubious of bargain carbon fibre (and body parts in general), as the fit and finish often seems below par (been there and done that on the classic Mini, bought some nasty parts before!), but this looks good from the eBay photo. Be interesting to see the level and position of the "slight damage".

When I had my own S I always had half an eye out for a bargain, genuine CF bonnet.

I went to see a CF bonnet advertised for £400 last year. Unfortunalty, although quite good, the quality of the weave was not good enough to have it on the car unpainted. I would guess perhaps the same here.

Saw the Zonda F in bare CF at Geneva last month - every piece of it was perfect - all the weave lined up and there were no 'puddles' without weave - must take them a real long time to get it right...

I guess if you were going to piant it then it would be OK, but most want to show off the CF.

I guess CF parts may be one of those areas you get what you pay for. Although this is apparently a £1000 bonnet, so it could be a good 'un.

I might be interested in it @ £400 ish, but £1000, I don't think so, I'd be on the phone to
1320autos or GTT if I had that sort of cash laying around !
