GTT Induction vs Alta

What are your opinions on the two?

Does the GTT induction increase the supercharger whine like the Alta? What about increase in bhp/torque?

The increased supercharger whine with the Alta intake is the result of removing the partition between the engine bay and under-windshield cowl area. To get this with the GTT intake you need to cut a hole in the partition.

I doubt you'll notice any difference in power gains between the two.

Alta IMHO is a good product, but doesnt have an internal rampipe with 360 deg rolled edge machined from solid, nor a second heatshield skin, plus its (heavy) mild steel rather than anodised alloy, + Alta takes much longer to fit or remove for 'discrete servicing'. Plus the hose is too large at the TB end plus the Alta hose has no step inside which it needs to cancel the step on the TB rim.
We flow benched one against the (very similar) GTT Ram kit we do for the Renault a long long time ago. The GTT was around 15 -20% up on CFM . Take the GTT ram pipe off our kit and the flows very similar... The GTT Rampipe design makes all the difference. Our kit is available in a 'new' blue or black now at no extra cost. Red /Yellow etc £10+vat extra.
Best Regards Roland GTT

Gary Bartle.... (no we havnt forgotten ) !!!
This is a detailed yet easy to understand for every one explanation of what (and why) goes into the GTT Cold Ram design. Theres absolutly no point in designing bringing out anything thats equal or inferior to whats already available. Plus if its going on my car I want it to be the best it can be.

I got my Alta from the States before it came out in the UK and before Roland offered his GTT ram pipe, and Im very happy with it , you now can get a lid that fits on top (i think it must interfere with anyone who has a strut brace fitted , not too sure on that)
I suppose you have to try both to see which one you like (bit impractical and expensive) but considering Roland has tested both his advice has to me noted
If i need to get a new intuction kit i may try Rolands just to see the difference (thinking ahead for T350 kit he offers)

Thanks all, seeing as I'm local to GTT I'll probably opt for one of Rolands.

.Gary Bartle .You are the only customer ever barred from GTT . (Thats why hes anti GTT products guys)- he can't have them! .
ps Genuine critisism is fine but yours have no credability . . The barring is nothing to do with M2 posts BTW. guys.
I was prepared to let it go at one point , to the extent I even let your friend order a part for you. And even an individual sleeve. Although nearly 3 years late, an apology could make all the difference.
-Thanks Pardonator, BTW we have a new blue available now

The JCW strut brace fits okay but thats the only one I've seen to date.

ALTA

I've been running mine for almost 2 years now and am addicted to the sound. A stock MINI sounds sooooo quiet now.

Hi Guys,If anyone is intending fitting GTT Strutbrace at a later date we can mod GTT Cold Ram prior to sending it. (£10+vat) this way you get a very neat job . We can mod for other braces aswell and Ive even seen a JCW one fitted with our induction kit without any mods to it ,though its better with a neat cutout.

well Roland i do think gtt is on of the best mini tuners out their and all your products are of a very high standard. and its great to see what you do for us mini addicts. its just sad we got off on the wrong foot.i think you could be a bit more under standing to some customers situations. my situation changed but two weeks later i had all the money for a 260bhp tune if only we could turn back the clock...

ohhhh this all sounded very juicy

For me its Alta due to colour and noise (I have heard the GTTs on Works hybrid and full GTT) but although the GTT is probably a better quality product for fit and power...the couple of BHP was not enough to go for the blue under the bonnet of a DS car.
