Offline | Sunroof blind Hello to everyone-new here. My wife has just bought an 05 cooper that has a 'full length' sunroof . Although it has a pull across blind (perforated) I was wondering if there were any aftermarket blinds ie black out ones that could be fitted in order to block out the sun etc. If not has anyone had their' glass heavily tinted? thanks |

Offline | Looking to block out the sun in an attempt to keep the interior cool when parked etc as the pull across blind does very little in the way of keeping out the suns rays, its fine when on the move etc.... |

Offline | I have a sunroof. I understand your concerns, but I think most of the heat from the sun will be through the windscreen and drivers windows etc. I think you would be better off leaving the sunroof as it is heavily tinted anyway, plus the extra bit of daylight into the cabin through the glass roof is a nice feature. |

| Whats this Datsun? | Only suggestion I can think of is to maybe use a vinyl such as the sunroof graphics provided by Cooper Flags or maybe minipirate could sort something for you. ![]() Mini Mania 08 13th July 08 - Durham - Its mahoosive! ![]() North East Mini Club - More Mini Fun in the North East!!![]() |

Offline | Why not just open the sunroof when you get in and instantly let the heat out! You may find you have the "comfort opening" like on my car, by holding down the unlock button on the key the windows and sunroof open before you get in! |

Offline | Just left mine parked in the sun today - with the sunroof cracked to reduce heat. Lot more sun heat here than anyplace in the UK (I'd guess the entire remaining empire, but I may have missed an island) and I find being able to crack the roof does much more good to cool the MINI than any extra heat from the sun beating down on it. |

| I miss my MINI | You know, I have thought about this myself. I don't want to stuff something up there that could fall when I am driving and is kind of ugly. I am not sure why MINI went with perforated mesh. I would think that it should be too hard to fit a piece of think vinyl or something in place of the mesh. There has to be a way. And before I get the whys and stuff... My wife has a slight allergy to the sun (mainly ears) and being able to totally block the overhead sun is useful. We just found out about this allergy and we already had the car. Global Moderator ![]() |

Offline | Yes ...they work great. They keep the sun out of my eyes while I am driving and the AC gets the car much cooler with the shades in place. Also keeps the interior from fading. I'll only use them in the summer as I do enjoy the sunroof ...I just hate heat. Dean. |
