Offline | Bonnet Stripes Hiya guys, Does anyone have fitting instructions to fit bonnet stripes? I just bought a pair of silver stripes for my mcs but it seems like a pain to fit myself so i asked my local Bmw dealer but they quoted me £140!!!! ![]() |

Offline | Well it wont be easy to fit them, you will need a clean residue-free surface and ensure no air-bubbles appear. If they are not a great sticker it can mean you will damage the paintwork in the process. I think i would try two options: 1. Speak to other dealers and quote to get prices. My 1st Dealer charged me £100 for stickers & Fitting. My 2nd Dealer (2nd MINI) charged £60 for stickers and fitting. Maybe its worth a drive to another dealer. 2. Speak to MINIPirate on here, he does Decals and may offer some tips on fitting, i think they also apply stickers too Dont forget that if a dealer installs them then you get a 2 year warranty, so if they manage to tear/damage paintwork you are covered. Hope it helps ![]() Sig Coming Soon.. |

![]() Obsessive Car Cleaner OCC | TBH its a very easy job to fit stripes on your bonnet.... 1, Clean the Bonnet thoroughly. 2, get a spray bottle with water and a splash of washing up liquid 3, get a chinagraph pencil or smilar and put marks on the bonnet to line the stripe up equal from either side (use the washer jets and bonnet badge) 4, spray the bonnet with the liquid were the stripe is gunna be laid ( with the liquid underneath you can move the stripe around and line up and will help with bubbles 5, peel the stripe from its backing and place on the bonnet 6, line up correctly then using a window squeege work from the inside out and squeege the water from under the stripe ensuring it stays straight and no bubbles appear 7, the end of the bonnet you may get some parts were it will not stick from the curve of the bonnet, just leave it till the water dry's and keep going over it with your finger every few hours or use a hair dryer to dry it out and keep going over it again! hope that helps, ive fitted a full set of vipers myself and a set of bonnet stripes before and they were fine!
