does a 2004 cooper s with chili have aircon?

Hi all, i have just ordered a 2004 Cooper S with a chili and visibility pack.

Does that have aircon?

I read that it did but just realised that the chili pack may not have had aircon as part of the pack at that time..

Horrible feeling in my stomach

Please let me know...thanks

I have just double checked in a 2004 brochure that I still have and you can relax; it DID include manual aircon in the Chili Pack in '04.

The Chili Pack also included:

17" S Spokes
Cloth/leather mix
Front fogs
Height adjustable passenger seat
Interior light package
On board computer (fuel consumption etc)
Storage compartment pack
Floor mats
Xenon headlamps & wash

Tigger.

PS: Welcome to Mini2 and enjoy your new S, it'll be great!

Trip computer was an optioinal extra. Difficult to know unless you can obtain the original factory spec sheet from the dealership that is selling the car. If you have the chassis number or the original factory/dealer registration number you can ask your local BMW dealer if they will give you the factory order sheet (or ask the seller to obtain this and email/post it to you)

My understanding is that all the MINIs have the trip cumputer on board, but it is not activated and the wiring is there but not plugged into the special steering wheel stalks. To get it in theory you need a nice dealer to activate and some replacement stalks and then it should work ... but thats just something I heard on the grapevine (don't get the dealer to actually retrofit it...do it yourself if its possible and then request (if they will even consider it) activation?

Yes, you need the OBC to get speedo in the rev counter. This was a standard part of the Chili pack on facelift (>06/04) Cooper S models.

Other point to note is that the OBC did not include the digital speedo until sometime in 2003 IIRC.

I disagree with that. My 54 plate MCS (non-chili, non-OBC) had digital speed reading in the rev counter LCD display.
