| MINI2 Regular | Cooper v Cooper S Now obviously there's no comparison performance wise but here's the question. I've currently got a 54 plate MINI Cooper in BRG in lovely condition and all in all a lovely car. Now my conundrum is whether I should get a similar age Cooper S as I quite fancy something with a little more ooomf (did I just write ooomf!!!). Looking around on Auto Trader there doesn't seem to be a great deal of difference in second hand value of my Cooper (I"m reckoning around 10.5k) and a similar age Cooper S. Is that correct? Also, running costs - at the moment I'm paying around £300 fully comp insurance and getting around 37mpg. Umm, i'm confused - what should I do!?!? |

Offline | my cooper lasted 9 months before the change to an 'S', im now 26-28 mpg but its an everyday car for me. Insurance went up roughly £100 give or take. I got a 54 reg 'S' with chili etc and paid 13k in March from Mini Cherished I must admit the fuel was a shock at first in relation to my Cooper before it. i will also admit that i'd easily go back to a Cooper as long as it was a 'fully loaded' JCW spec in Black without any hesitation if i had to. Offline | It was always the S for me. Test drove a Cooper first......... ahh NO don't think so, drove the S, yes this is it. "I have no data yet. | MINI2 Senior | well highway driving i get ~6.7l/100 avg, i think ud get around 6.0l/100 in ur non S nixmin ? but city driving i get really agressive and push in as much as i can so the right foot is constantly going flat , goes up to around ~9.0/100 although that is what a standard bommodore uses highway driving so that doesnt bother me ![]() |
