| MINI2 Master | What would i sell my GTT260 MCS for ( Just an idea at mo) Ok, Guys, having a few thinkies, and had a potential oppurtunity to work away abroad for a while, so would need to sell up. So what do people think would be a good figure to potentialy sell the Mini for. Bearing in mind its full GTT260+ spec ( only recently done) is an 02 model with 56000 miles on clock, however had brand new BMW supplied and GT-tuning fitted engine 900 miles ago, Which is warrantied. Pure silver in colour with Full Aero kit, Full leather, Climate, cd changer and usuall Chilli pack. Also has JCW gear knob and 2007 3-spoke wheel with JCW cover. and JCW shift light. Also comes with ful BMW service and TLC XL to take up to 2010. Also has Facelift xenons, clear rear lights and a subtle GTT badge. Now i know that 8500 would be a normal price for one of these, but bearing in mind the pace of this car and that its had nearly 6k spent on the engine ( not including the cost of the new engine) would i be wrong in putting it up for say 10k. Because i think i would be right in saying you will not find another mini in the uk for sale with the same spec. So what you all reckon, and please remember this is not a deifnate |

Offline | I think you should keep it as you willk loose a lot of money, there will be many questions about why you are selling it so close to having the tuning work done. If you can keep it then I would but if financially you can't then maybe 11 - 12 as most people like stock cars. though you never know ![]() |

| MINI2 Master | well the only reason is offer of work the other side of the world, not for financial reasons. But i am asking if i should put it up for 10k . Failing that i would just put it back to standard and let my brother use it for trade in, then sell all the extras on. i think at this level of spec though it will attract a certain buyer, if it was just pullied then fair enough, but its probably worht more due to the spcec and the sheer performance. This would not be straight away, but could be by May, so just sounding it out. ![]() |

Offline | Mmm having had a few cars with serious modifications (one in excess of 17k of pure performance mods) I can tell you that they are worth next to nothing when selling the car. You may be better off approaching GTT with a view to returning it to standard and then attempting to sell the GTT kit separately - you will probably end up a few K up if you do it that way. |

| Giggity-goo! | The way I see it, the way your car is at the moment there is a more limited market that you can sell to. If a guy comes along and is interested he may be with some run of the mill insurance company and if he bought the car would just want to ring them up and say, 'hey I've got a MCS now, can you change my policy?'. But most insurance companies would probably refuse to insure, or quote a huge premium as they are nervous about modded cars. So this potential buyer would have to go and call around Adrian Flux/Greenlight and declare all the mods (and if they are not clued up on performance parts, they may think it's not worth the hassle). Also some buyers may think the car has been ragged around/taken on track which may not appeal to everyone (even though it is a great track car). Your best bet as has been mentioned is to probably strip the car back to stock and sell the performance parts seperately. ![]() |

Offline | I would have to agree with Fin. The more mods, the smaller your potential buyer pool. In the unlikely event of having to sell my car, I would seriously consider converting it back to standard. Unless some MINI2 enthusiast made me an offer I couldn't refuse. ![]() ![]() |
