Thats a very valid point. Also one you missed is the plugs, as i have seen a numer disintergrate

I'm happy with my GTT mods which now equate to the full 230+ kit with the addition of Spiroslot brakes and all the chassis braces.

That said I used Ray West to remap the RS6 I had before the S and it was a quality job. I did hear something unnerving from another RS6 owner about how his car was driven when "a tuner" had it (it had data logging enabled and it recorded a maximum of 157mph) and I know he used West Tuning as I sent him there, so although he didn't name and shame I'm pretty sure I know who it was and that sort of dented my faith in the company.

Hi Guys!

We can offer various tuning options for the Cooper S. Most popular package is a re-map along with uprated pulley. This will give in the region of 204bhp.

With extensive mods 250+bhp is possible. As always, it depends on what result you are after, and budget

Doesn't a rolling road get a car up to these kind of speeds on the dyno? Are you saying it was actually driven on a road/track at those speeds??!!

Sounds like reline in 6th to me... id be amazed to see an R56 hit that speed without a turbo double the size. And if it could how many miles of clear road would you need?

There was some reason it had to be on the road; the datalogger used GPS to get its signal I think, hence it had to be moving rather than just wheel speed.

157 isn't redline in top in an RS6. Redline in 5th is the far side of 200 (205 rings a bell) though as standard they are officially limited to 155 with most of the magazines suggesting they were allowed to go a bit quicker than that. After remapping they are derestricted, I saw just under 180 in mine and it was still pulling but I could also see traffic ahead and the rubber seals round the doors all popped at about 165 so it seemed like that was enough. They are all 5 speed autos BTW, so no 6th gear.

I'm a VERY happy West Tuning customer. As I've said many times, Ray was one of the first to tune the mini. He also does a lot of work with car manufactures on the ECU side of things. Just go to his work shop and count how many Porsche's, Audi's, TVR's & touring cars are there waiting for work. This guy is always busy

The stories he's told me about putting other mini tuner's work right is very scary to say the least..

Choose your tuner wisely, there’s tuners out there selling parts that don't do what it says on the packet!!

Does anyone know if West Tuning are looking into R56 tuning?
