United-Kingdom Newbies buy,what you think??

Hi folks, been a reader for a while, great board here. So last week i picked up my first MCS!!
Ive owned a classic Cooper Sport for 3 years, but needed something...well more lol!
Last week, i bought an 02 MCS. Electric Blue, white roof, mirrors and white s alloys, with 4 new tyres.
Full history, TLC used up, only 42k on clock, not a mark on it.
Full leather
Chilli pack
Air con
Xenons+washers
Carbon bonnet scoop
Cruise control
Multi steering wheel
2 owners from new
Was a mini cherised from last owner
2 keys,2 bmw stamps in book, next service in 6000 miles

Mainly the car is for the girlfriend, she was looking at a Cooper, but with the extras and the low mileage, we are happy we went for the MCS!
Paid £7200 for it, near full MOT and tank of fuel!
So do yas think i got a good deal? Im quiet happy with it, apart from a few small rattles cant see anything else wrong with it, it being an 02 i wasnt sure what to expect.
The TLC book says oil change at 40,000 but with the clock saying 42,000 and next service due in 6000,is this normal?(48,000 not the documented 40,000)
Only other thing is the power steering pump, seems to be making the whirrling noise, but i guess this is the norm? Any advice would be great, as this is our first MCS, but defo not the last!
Can i extend the servicing or am i too late, the car being over 5 years old?

You could try extending the TLC, normally it has to be done within a certain time perios or before the service indicator runs down to the next due service.

The car price was reasonable, they all rattle

Hey thanx, yeah you get used to the rattles, its an excuess to put the foot down and drown the rattles out with the supercharger, lol.

Yeah, ill call into my local mini dealer tomorrow and see if i can extend it. From the book it seems to only have had 2 main services(maybe more and i aint looking at it right) and 6k untill the next one. Still not bad miles for a car of its age.

really enjoying owning it though, and advice to anyone thinking about it, go for it 100%

really enjoying this forum also, well used to the classic mini ones, so this is a nice breath of air.

You have to renew on the telephone to the MINI Warranty department, the dealer will be able to give you this number
