While out driving today my emissions light came on

Its a 2005 Cooper S with 22k on the clock, its standard apart from a Milltek cat back system and a JCW airbox

Anyone else has this problem?

Do I really need to take it to the dealers?

Either dealers or a garage that can read ODBII fault codes but then some on the MINI are MINI specific so not easy. Could be just an O2 sensor failure

Worth getting it checked.

If it went into limp mode then its more serious. Emission light alone usually means just emissions related e.g. O2 Sensors, Cat Efficiency.

The light was still on this morning but thankfully this afternoon it didn't come on
