Ticking noise sorted..

My car has been back with the dealer to have a wheel bearing replaced so, while it was in, i asked them to check out a ticking noise i was getting under hard acceleration. My girlfriend said it sounded like a lolly ice stick in bike spokes which is a description i've read on the site somewhere

The noise is a ticking/clicking/chattering noise which appears to come from the drivers side of the engine bay. It was only noticeable under hard acceleration with the window down. Didn't appear to matter what speed, gear, or what rpm the engine was running at, just that you were giving it some.

I mentioned it to the Technician and he said he knew what it was straight away. Apparently there's little clip on the Supercharger belt tensioner. These have a habit of breaking off and cause the ticking/chattering noise. He said It's only a 5 minute job and has now been sorted

I've read a few threads mentioning ticking noises so just thought i'd mention mine as a cause has been found and the noise is now gone.

no problem.. i've heard a lot of causes of ticking type noises but this one seems pretty common going by what the technician said.
