| MINI2 Newbie | Buying Used Mini S Guys, I'm looking to buy a used Mini Cooper S Considering they are a new engine, would a 55K mile car be classed as a high miler? Any things to look out for during my hunt? Thanks, Kace P.S. Admins, i posted in the wrong forum earlier. Sorry |

Offline | Are you in the right Forum yet? As tommo13 says, 55,000 miles is high for any R56 Cooper S as they are still very new; do you mean the earlier R53 Cooper S? Tigger. |

You're still in the wrong Forum as it's the earlier R53 you're talking about ![]() 55,000 miles is not too high and £8000 sounds like a cheap price, although '02 was the first year of production and will have been subject to a few faults from early production. Check especially if the car tends to pull to the left! It was a known early fault. The engine and gearbox are very tough otherwise, though early ones can be vulnerable to the coolant expansion tank splitting and the car rapidly loosing coolant with potentially catastrophic results. |
