Offline | New Owner - Grey Cooper S Hey everyone, Just put a deposit down on a 2005 Gunmetal Grey Mini Cooper S. (After having an absolute nightmare with the salesmen. Drove for 2 hours to go and see it and they had locked it away in the workshop after servicing it :P) Can't wait to get it, was a tough choice between the 197 or the MCS, but decided I didn't wanna spend 16k on a car which felt much cheaper then the MCS. The cars got 30k on the clock, 1 owner from new, Chili pack, Grey with white stripes. Will post pics one day this week hopefully. One question I did have was, has anyone had any problems with removing the stripes on their mini, i mean in respect to different colour tones between the paint under the sticker. Not a fan of the go faster stripes and would like to remove them if poss. Cheers. |

| 01 | You made the right choice there. Nice colour choice too. I have removed stipes and stickers myself before and it is ok as long as the rest of the paintwork has been looked after well and waxed to prevent it becoming two toned (mostly proned on red and rich coloured cars) ![]() |

Offline | Hello Quantic, Your dilemma between the 197 and MCS sounds very similar to mine before I bought my MCS. I loved the 197 as it was a true raw hot hatch. Don’t worry though mate you won’t regret buying the MCS, best decision I have made in my 22years of life lol. All the best. |

Offline | Yeah mate, I really really really really really......... really really don't regret it. The mini is wonderful. Went to pay for it last night and have another drive. They are servicing it today and sorting tax etc out then picking it up saturday. Can't wait for those xenon lights, I had them on my old polo gti but my A3 1.8T didnt have them ![]() |

Offline | Picked the car up this morning. Its absolutely mint, when I origionally went to the garage there was a bit of a mess up. Me and my dad drove over an hour each way to go see it and they had locked it in the garage. So to make it upto us they got it properly detailed, all 4 wheels refurbed, all stone chips repaired. When I went to collect it this morning it was honestly as new, absolutely no sign of previous use. The car itself is registered 28th december 2004 and is a 2005 spec. This car is an absolute diamond, I adore it. Having driven quite alot of fast cars I can honestly say this mini is maybe my favourate. With exception of the runflat tyres I can't think of anything on the car I would alter or change drive wise. One small thing I would like to ask, I wanted to buy some of the BMW white lights for the back but hear they have been discontinued. Anyone know where I can get them for a 2005 car? ![]() ![]() |

| Some have THICK skins!!!! | congrats on that. MINI white lights haven't been discontinued at all but with yours being an 05 build it would mean some re wiring. Thats not a major panic though. Any MINI dealer can get them - but you then have to have the horrible OEM reflectors. Personally I would reccomend going to Mike of NewMINIStuff.com (MINI2 sponsor and the mutts nuts with this sort of thing) as he not only sells the OEM white lights but also a whole range of LED white lights that are really cool (NewMINIStuff.com, NewMINIStuff.com, NewMINIStuff.com)If you get the OEM white lights try and get some other sort of reflectors - the MINI ones really are ugly and they cut your bumper I personally cut some to the MINI logo shape just to be different ![]() Paul |

Offline | Congratulations on your new MINI, it sounds really cool! Also sounds like the dealer really knows how to prepare a MINI for pick-up day, even reparing stone chips! Which dealer is this if you don't mind me asking? ![]() |
