Offline | Bought mine at Hassel...due to at the time it was the only Dealer with a list. I also talked to a place in the Hamptons that repairs very serious cars (anything really classic) and he said stay away from the white roof. Said the roof after awhile will get stained and won't ever be perfectly clean again. I went with the black roof, better with the sun-roof anyhow. Got stripes too. |

Offline | Thanks for the replies everyone, I'm really looking forward to getting this car! A few comments to various posts: Jos986 - thanks for the BRG/B photo, this is one combination I havn't seen here yet. The day I went to the dealer was a nice sunny clear day, and they had one BRG/W there. I was suprised how good the BRG color looked, and it is tempting. I think the BRG has a tendency to look almost black though, but it is still on my list! I agree with the comment about the sunroof looking better on black roof. It does seem to break up and ruin the look of a white roof, but I think I am sticking with the white roof so far. I do like the look of the black roof with the DS or PS. noblewines - thanks for the info on the white roof as possibly going bad over time. Anyone else think this might be a problem? uae mini - my dealer said the harman kardon sound system would not be available till Jan '03, this might be a US thing? I didn't want to delay that much so Im accepting the regular sound system. kars - they offered the Kaleido panther cloth to me as an option, so it must be available, unless they just don't know what they are talking about. I think I am going to switch to leather anyway (if I stick with the IB, then this will be the lapis blue leather, otherwise the panther black). I am also going to drop the stripes, I'm starting to think that they are just a little too much. I wish someone made some magnetic stripes, so you could add them or take them off when you wanted. If nobody sells this, it might be a good little business idea! I have a question for you folks out there... The dealer told me that there is no longer an option for a factory installed alarm. All you can get is the pre-wiring for the alarm, and the dealer will finish the job. And the price was $100 over the factory alarm choice he first quoted me. Do you folks think they are pulling my chain here? JCW S, IB/W, Lapis Blue, sunroof etc. |

Offline | I was lent a Cooper S EB/W the weekend before I took delivery of my car (EB/B) and I had to take it to the jet wash and even after a thorough cleaning, the roof still looked dirty and had to be leathered off. Have a look at my car and see if Electric Blue (not sure if it's available in the states) should be on your short list. |

Offline | I ran across this product: Removable static cling stripes for the new Mini. I will definitely be dropping the stripes option. Now I can add them or take them off as the mood strikes me. http://www.minicooperparts.com/catal...roducts_id=132 JCW S, IB/W, Lapis Blue, sunroof etc. |

Offline | They told me after Thanksgiving for delivery, whatever that means. I'm assuming I'll get it some time in December. I am going out there today (10/5), to make my last minute changes, and I will try to get a more definite answer (position on list if any etc.). JCW S, IB/W, Lapis Blue, sunroof etc. |

Offline | Went to the dealer today for my last minutes changes. I dropped the bonnet stripes (now that I know I can add them as temporary static cling type), and added in the Lapis Blue leather instead of the Kaliedo cloth. They told me I would have a production/build # by the end of the week. I'll see if that holds true. Once I get the number it should be about 8 weeks before I pick it up. JCW S, IB/W, Lapis Blue, sunroof etc. Last edited by Ken NYC : Oct 6th, 2002 at 12:55 AM. |

Offline | hummm...sounds awesome!!! now, i guess i should go up and have a chat about my car, seeing that mini/bmw has had $1K of mine for 14 months - must be a reasonable explanation why I still haven't gotten a delivery date... did you put a deposit on yours? Indi Blue/white S, moon roof, DSC, fog lights |
