Offline | This will likely start a lively discussion. There is another thread going on this. I would go/am going with the owner's manual instructions, for the first 1200 miles, under 4500 rpm, under 95 mph. Very your speeds, after the first 1200 miles you can ramp up your rpm's. Think about it, this car comes with a good warrantee and maintenance agreement, why risk that by not following the manufacturer's break-in (run-in) procedure? I am up around 700 miles now and the engine seems to be running in just fine. MC/VR/B/PP&SP/CVT/Xenon |

Offline | I agree, just never flog it in any particular gear for long periods , I kept to 5000 rpm, for 1000 miles, and then started to open it up...I'm due a first oil change next week.Like any 16v engine they get better as they loosen up. Engine is fine, it's just little things like a noisy fan on the a/c and a rattle in the dash , that let the package down so far. ![]() Cooper S,200Bhp+ Graham Goode Racing/Superchip Conversion, MagnaFlow Exhaust,British Racing Green,White Roof,Chilli Pack ,Gravity Full Leather, 17" S Spoke Alloys,Multi-Function Strg Wheel,Elec.
