| MINI2 Regular | This poll is for MCS OWNERS who have had their car at least 30 days. If you have not yet taken delivery of your new MCS, or have not driven the vehicle for at least 30 days, please revisit the poll after you have had one month experience with the car. The data will be more meaningful if it represents a minimum of 30 days of ownership experience. Thanks! ![]() BTW, if you like the idea of watching the results of this kind of poll, please remember to rate the thread so it attracts more users. When it comes to data, more is better! Offline | I am very satisfied with my Cooper S. That's not to say my car is absolutely perfect - it isn't. But then nothing is. I've had the car for 6 months so I'm beyond the starry-eyed honeymoon phase. I don't dwell on the faults or flaws and I certainly believe the overall car has so much inherent 'goodness' in design and execution which far outweigh the negatives. Overall, I'd say: 95% , 4% , and 1% ![]() When I get behind the wheel of my MINI, I always look forward to the journey. How about you? Offline | The best car we've had by miles the only disappointment has been the rattles and creaks, but I think thats down to the SSP which appears to be firmer on our S than it was on the cooper and not forgetting the really poor condition of the roads around where we live.10 out of 10 for us. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() dinger ![]() |

Offline | Aside from Rattles & Creaks 10 I mean the ones that hit on certain rpms, on certain outside temperatures,on the less-than-perfecty road surface, and when the stock stereo is played (flatted out) louder than softly… Aside from those… This is one AWESOME CAR! 9 with the rattles. ![]() NY/NE Mod |

Offline | Have it three months now and put 9,000 kms (6,600 miles)on the clock sofar. Enjoyed every minute I spent in it, this car is so much fun to drive. Temperatures are getting lower here as winter approaches and the engine performs noticably better in the cold. Think about moving to Alaska In short 100% and Gues it will be 110% after fitting the Hartge kit in january/february ![]() |

Offline | Great car but it could do better ![]() My MCS just isn't as impressive as when I first got my Cooper. I guess maybe it's because I'm too used to MINIs now ![]() The handling isn't as chuckable as my Cooper was and there is a definate need for more power... MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. Offline | Maybe I'm just lucky but I've had none of the common creaks and squeaks faults reported here. Overall it's everything I expected it to be in terms of a fine piece of engineering plus an entertaining and enjoyable driving experience. Only disappointment is the lack of real throttle response. I expected that though and when funds allow I do think the works kit will fix it. Though I admit I never exected to spend £20k when I first thought about buying the car, the fact I am shows it's something that deserves having more cash thrown at it IMO. And for now at least, the real appeal is just the look of the beast; that's something which never disappoints each time I wheel it out of the garage.. ![]() |

Offline | Mine has had all the rattles, a faulty airbag, faulty fuel sender and I am getting pretty poor service from the dealer when they try to repair it. I keep having to wait for ages for them to finish the work when I arrive to collect the car, even if I phone before I set off to check it's ready; bad enough if I lived round the corner, but it takes me 45-60 minutes to get there! Plus they keep damaging (scratching and denting) it when they are fixing things. In fairness to the MINI staff, they are all great and very friendly, helpful etc, it's just when I have to take it into the BMW service section that things go wrong. Maybe this is affecting my views slightly, but I am only somewhat satisfied with the car. Sure, everyone loves it . Even the local policeman says he's going to come and get it next time he needs to commandeer a vehicle, which he apparently has done twice before (I thought they only did that on TV and in films!). Another time I stopped to let this New Age traveller / homeless looking guy (who I would have thought spent most of his time living in a tree protesting about new roads being built and hated cars; he was even riding a bike!) cross at a zebra crossing. He got halfway, stopped, looked at the car and just when I was getting worried he shouted 'Nice car' and gave me a thumbs up! ![]() However, I kind of miss the free-revving nature of my old 106 GTI, which just seems more exciting to drive somehow. Maybe the Cooper S on 17"s just has a bit TOO much grip in the corners and feels kind of heavy to me (about 250kgs more than my 106). Plus I find overtaking is more dangerous now that I have a proper safety cell around me and doors that are slightly thicker than a piece of tinfoil, which leaves me sitting a lot further inboard from the outer edge of the car than in my 106, so it's a lot harder to see around the vehicle in front without getting dangerously over the other side of the road. I also miss having a sensible amount of boot space (or at least a sensible shaped boot; why is the space almost vertical with nothing to hold the cargo in? The only way to fill it is to stack the bags precariously on top of each other, hoping they don't all fall out when you get where you're going, or carry a big cardboard box in the boot the whole time. Also I miss being able to carry more than one adult passenger with legs. I don't know, maybe after waiting so long it was bound to be a bit of an anti-climax, and the BMW service problems aren't helping. Maybe after I've managed to go for a month or two without them having to go anywhere near it I might feel differently! ![]() |

Offline | Not Sure about that boot thing... I LOVE puling up the big cart full of big cartons at Costco (wholesale club) to my MINI, past all the SUVs and Minivans. People stare. But it is the best feeling fiting all that crap into my MINI rather effortlessly. Thanks for reminding me how much fun that was. ![]() ![]() NY/NE Mod |

Offline | this car is the best. had my share of faults too. 1. air bag light wouldn't turn off. 2. clicking steering (dealer has ordered a new column to be installed soon). other than that, the car is perfect. ![]() DS/B, Sunroof, Fog Lights. Finally here! I love this car! |

Offline | Just Took Delivery... ...and it's perfect after the first week. The one thing I will need to see from the car is more power up top when I get it broken in. If it can do that, then I'll stick with a "perfect" rating. ![]() 2003 MINI Cooper S (daily driver) 2004 Corvette ZO6 (replacement for my beloved Supra) |

Offline | I've owned two M3's. An E30 and now this E36. I plan on getting an E46 really soon. For all out speed and high speed handling my M3 smokes my MC-S. With that being said, I haven't driven my M in a while. LOL. My MC-S holds more speed on some of my favorite "tight" turns. It feels a lot more stable - especially in the rear. My M wants to swing out if I get on it too early. Drifting is always fun. I've done it a couple of times now in the MC-S. 1998 Arctic Silber M3 - AA supercharged 1999 740iL 02 Electric Blue MC-S |
