Offline | Fall MCS Warning - Leaves / Intercooler Just a reminder for those of us who truly have fall as a season. Check your intercooler regularly for leaves - that hood scoop is like a vacumn cleaner. This is what I found just from this past weekend. Obviously any intercooler obstructions will reduce efficiency and power. Jason Jason Livingood | personal web site 2002 DS/W MINI Cooper S Thank you for signing my rear fog light petition. Now we have rear fogs! :-) |

Offline | Yeah, tell me about it! I opened my bonnet the other day, after feeling a marked lag in performance, and found, atop my intercooler, two cold McDonald's hamburgers, unwrapped, and a medium strawberry shake. ![]() Really am planning on keeping a photolog of things found on my intercooler. Digital cameras have revolutionized my world! so has the MINI Cooper S. ![]() NY/NE Mod |

Offline | This is what I have made for the MINI to help out for the leaves and small rocks. I also have two other pieces made with pictures. Send me an email if you want pictures. Mine are too large right now and will try to make them smaller for the website.Tonyp Last edited by tonyp : Nov 30th, 2002 at 09:25 AM. |

Offline | It might not be a big deal, but this will take care of most of the problems that people are having with rocks, leaves etc. Thats not counting the performance that you will lose driving down the road and not having to check under the hood. This will also help out the fins from getting bent and stuck. |

Offline | Made out of aluminum mesh. This one is a brushed bronze. I also have brushed aluminum that has louvered sides that you can put the direction of the air flow going in the intake. If you think about the intake to the intercooler it could make a vortech type of flow. If you need more info. email me at tonp@q-express.net |

Offline | I can't believe MINI didn't include some kind of screen to prevent things like this from happening. Noodle packets and leaves! That's rediculous; the engine will be covered in c**p in no time. Chilly |
