| MINI2 Newbie | Its sad but true! After being on the waiting list since early March and five test drives the dream is over. Somethings have changed financially and i could not afford to run one a reasonable amount of miles a year and maintain the roof over my head and keep that head in school. This made me really sad and reluctantly i began my search for another car. Well i found a steal on ebay but was still a bit skeptical about this car actually being able to hold a candle to the car i had been prepping myself for. Well i won the auction and drove to nebraska from Wisconsin to pick up my 96 miata with 51k miles on it for 5 grand(less than my MCS downpayment was going to be) Anyways when we finally get to nebraska and get to the dealership, sign some papers and we are away. on the first turn out of the dealership i pushed the tail waaaaaaaay out and the stupid grin on my face told me everything was going to be ok. Do i miss anticipating my would have been MCS arrival? yes Do i wish i could have gotten one everytime i see one? yes Is it ironic that i ended up buying a car less practical than the MINI when that was my major concern about the car? very All in all though i think i did the best that i could with what i got. Anyways, I would just like to thank everyone on this forum for nurturing my intrest in the MINI and driving in general, and we will see what happens when i graduate from school and am back in the new car market untill then motor on wherever you are! Sincerly Stefchu PS dont worry i will still be lurking about this forum as usual ![]() |

Offline | It sounds like you made an "educated" decision. I will assume the MINI will continue to be produced, so wait for the '06 ...200+ HP model ![]() Coop 2 (Speedy) - '07 DS/DS MCS |

| MINI2 Regular | I think you mad ean extremely wise decision. There is no point killing yourself financially over a car. I'm glad you chose the Miata over some bland POS newer car too. When you do get a MINI, ther'll be no more rattles creaks hiccups stalls or pulls. Ans you'll be able to eat more than just Kraft Dinner 'till then. Best of luck, -uu. sad goodbye to 2002 Chili MCS Happy hello to BRG JCW MCSC |

Offline | Hopefully you have a very long future ahead of you. So your post title may be a bit premature, unless you've sworn off ever owning a MCS. Perhaps just your immediate future will be MCS free. Sounds like you made a sound financial choice. Graduate, get a great job, and then get a MCS when you go through your first midlife crisis. If you were serious enough to put down a down payment, and got emotionally attached to the car you were planning on ordering, you'll own one someday. I can almost guarantee it. Not everybody understands or gets the MINI. If you're attracted to cars like the MINI, then you get it, and that attraction doesn't go away. Sorry to say it's a non curable disease, and can even be contagious. With the proliferation of SUVs we can only hope so. Cheers, Brant |
