Offline | How long is the wait for MCS in GB ? Just curious since this board is populated by many Euro types. In Los Angeles current wait for an S at MSRP is 10-12 months. How long is the wait if I lived in England ? MINI USA says 100,000 cars a year are being built and 20,000 are coming to US that would leave 80,000 for Europe. I assume waits aren't very long over there. Steve 1990 Corolla 1999 Infiniti 1992 Corvette 2003 MCS (soon I hope) |

Offline | I ordered my S on July 31. Was told to expect Apr/May. Got a call from the dealer 3 weeks ago and was told Jan 20ish. Either they've increased production or they have a lot of cancelled slots due to people being laid off because of the economic climate. 260909 ![]() |

Offline | Jinx! Wow, that's almost exactly the same way mine went. Ordered on 13th July, original date given was 15th April, but now brought forward to 20th Jan. Mind, I had to ask before they offered to bring it forward and they said they could only do it because someone cancelled their order. Incidentally, the reason I asked for confirmation of the delivery date was that another dealer had just told me he could get me a Cooper S in 3 months. Compared to the 9 months of my original quote, that was quite an improvement. So, to answer the original question(!), you can get an MCS in 3 months in the UK. Used to take longer, but it's come down now. Mal. |

Offline | UK delivery times I ordered my MCS on 19 November and was told mid-February delivery. I've actually asked for it to be delayed a couple of weeks (am I mad?) till the 1st March to take advantage of the change in registration plates in UK - ie, so it doesn't look 6 months old as soon as I've bought it. That was the dealers near my parent's (Astle in Scunthorpe who seem pretty helpful so far). The MINI dealer in the City (of London), Sytner also quoted similar times. Offline | I guess I'm lucky... The sig details cover it. One Month from order to delivery, however I am waiting until January to collect so its registered as 2003 (worth up to £750 at resale time). The car trade grinds to a halt at Xmas in the UK, I was lucky because the dealer traded two std cooper build slots for two cooper S build slots with a dealer in Glasgow. When I test drove , I was told a Feb delivery was likely. Then when offering Cash with no trade in , it seemed to speed up ![]() Not much of a sniff of a deal tho, £16K is easily spent. Offline | That was very lucky Bruce. I was offered a slot two months earlier but I turned it down because I wanted to save more wonga. That was still not as lucky as your wait. Besides you well never be quite as excited as I got with only a month to wait! I know what you mean about the 16K but trust me it is worth every penny. You must have ordered the chilli pack with that price. ![]() |

Offline | Yup, ordered MCS plus metallic paint (£250) chilli (£1370,i think) and heated mirrors/washers (£40). Also the bargin TLC obviously. I only wanted the air con at first, then was tempted by the zenons so the Chilli was the best option. I hope the 17" alloys don't spoil the ride too much or reduce response but what the hell , they will look goooood. I would have liked the MFSW (for cruise) and the heated front screen and HK stereo but I had to draw the line somewhere ![]() The wait is really getting to me now ![]() ![]() Cooper S EB/BLK, Chilli pack heated mirrors /washer jets *****ordered 10/11/02***** Collected 4/01/03 --running in-- |

Offline | I ordered my MCS about 3 weeks ago and have been told it's expected early April, so about a 5/6 month wait. I could have had one that day but it wasn't the spec I wanted. I've been told that if you are prepared to ring around you can get the delivery time right down, but been a lazy B****** and the wait will give me a chance to get the cash together I didn't bother. |

Offline | Delivery time from order I think i've waited longer than most people. We ordered in March 02. Told delivery would be end of Feb 03. Now its come down to 20th Jan. Its given us chance to save etc, fairly extensive spec however, adds up to 17.5K. Won't be long now hopefully. Dave ![]() |

Offline | Man, there's some long waits here! I order ed my S about 4 weeks ago (early to mid November-ish) and was quoted February delivery, though I may delay 'til 1 March (my birthday!) for the new registration. Having said that - I know I was lucky as this was the last Feb slot they had, they had two others in March but I had to rush the order through that day (and get the spec right, lucky I'd done some research beforehand!) to grab the Feb slot. |

Offline | Ordered MCS from Barons at Hindehead on Oct22nd, delivery due jan19. They must be increasing production line. There are no tours round Cowley factory till March as major refurbishment work taking place. Is this to incorporate Cabriolet? or just increase productivity? Friendly German gentleman i spoke to at factory became a bit edgy with me asking these questions!! Thought I was press!! |

Offline | It seems that there are some VERY long waits here. I was told if I ordered last month (October) then there were still some build slots left, and I could have a MCS by December. Otherwise the delivery would be 2 months to 4 months maximum. I was also told however, that when the cabriolet is released, part of the MCS production line will be used for its production and so delivery times will probably increase! (I'd better get that order in quickly then!!) |
