Offline | How come Yellow isn't popular? I'm looking at getting a MCS for my wife. We'd like it to match my car (Honda S2000). How come the liquid yellow doesn't seem very popular? I know it's kind of a drab yellow, but I'd like it to match my car, just to be fun .What do you think? The MINI's in the photo were all sold. If I order one, we'd get it in Feb. or March. Should I go with another color, or do they look good together? I kind of like the matching colors, and the wife likes yellow. What do you guys think? |

Offline | I like that color yellow. I have an old 1980 Firebird that is that exact (or close) yellow from the factory. It's not an overly bright yellow like some cars. I agree with Grinder, it's a creamy yellow. ![]() |

Offline | Lady I met two nights ago had a LY MCS. Black top with stripes. Badness, I tell you. Yeah, you put it next to a sporty bright yellow car and it pales, but it still shouts on the roadway. Roars in the parking lot. To boot-This wicked nice lady had just picked her baby up that day, seats still in plastic. She and her husband picked the color to go with their Miata. Go for it. Your post made me think of them immediately. And that S was the bomb. ![]() NY/NE Mod |

Offline | Re: Re: How come Yellow isn't popular? Yeah, the dealer had a lot of yellow MINIs,and a ton of others. This dealership was like a hub I guess. A lot of MINIs come to Tampa and get sent to other dealerships. Most of the cars in that photo were getting shipped up to Atlanta. So, if anyone here lives in Atlanta, your car may have been in that photo! Of course, the car's probably in your garage now, as those shots are two weeks old.Anyway, yeah, I kind of like the yellow of the MINI myself. It does look like milk or cream was added! We are looking to get a MCS loaded with about everything but the nav system and cold package. Also, the wife doesn't want the bonnet stripes. I can't say I care much of them on the yellow either. We have to get rid of one of our cars first, trying to sell a 1997 Explorer Sport or a 2000 Honda Accord. Once we get rid of one or both of those, we will be ordering our MINI! Can't wait! It'll be my wife's of course, but hey, I'll get to drive it from time to time . |

Offline | I love my Liquid Yellow MCS. The color sets the car apart from all the silver-colored vehicles on the road. Plus, it's safer. You can actually see yellow -- coming and going. It doesn't fade into the pavement. Add to this the Happy Factor -- yellow is a happy color. ![]() DeniseK |

Offline | When I was originally making my plans of ordering my MCS, I was thinking of getting yellow. After seeing what shade of yellow it was, I scraped that idea. I think its way too pale. The color of your S2000 is more along the lines of what I wanted. Very bright and vibrant, like the s2000, corvette, or the yellow mustangs. Mini S |

Offline | Yellow needs to be darker (IMHO) I wish it had been closer to the yellow from the Nissan Xterra, Ford Escape, Jeep Wrangler... Forget trucks! how about I compare it with sports cars? the VW GTI or Turbo Beetle, Honda S2000, Ferrari GTO, Lamborghini Countach/Diablo/Murcielago. The liquid yellow is too pale. My respects to those who like it. ![]() |

Offline | Thanks Basil, I've been busy. Now, who says that Liquid Yellow isn't popular? Everyone that sees my car (says) that they love the colour. And seriously, some of those yellows that are driving around will look really out of place in a couple of years. Very sore eyes just looking at Monaros, Porsches, Hyundais, the new Mazdas (how bright is that?!?) and that horrible, horrible Subaru yellow. BMW went for the middle ground with LY and it works for me. I'm not a fan of LY and Black, as it gives the yellow a different look. LY and white, with white wheels - there's nothing on the road that looks like it. Everyone notices it, and it's really easy to find my car in the car park. It takes a certain amount of courage to choose LY on a MINI, easier choices are DS, EB, BRG, CR. But how many of these are there out there compared to the LY? Tons! I've got a pretty individual car. I'm happy about that. ![]() DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY LY IN PHOTOS. SEE IT IN THE FLESH, THEN MAKE YOUR MIND UP. Regards, ElTel |
