Driving through a park yesterday, and a 3yo girls looked and pointed at us?? What is it with kids, how do they know to do that??? Maybe they were conceived in a old mini

Yeah, people point, stare, smile and ask questions, and it's nice to drive a unique car--but the next time somebody calls my MC S a "cute little car," I think I'm going to strangle them.

When you tell them it will do close to 140 mph and it will blow most other cars off the road, they still say, "It's still a cute little car!" GA-A-A-H!

Girls have called my mini "cute" or "it's so sweet". Blokes say "cool". At least no one has said it's a duffer...

The best part is when you get looks from people who are sat in cars costing double, triple, and in some cases quadruple what you paid.

Anyone experience that? Isn't it a great feeling?

Ditto! That's why I'm going for tint this week. Glad to see that there's someone from Louisiana on this forum. I just tranfered to Mississippi from Baton Rouge. Bought my MCS at Brian Harris Mini. Please keep me updated on any Mini events down there as I don't think MS will have any.

I quite enjoy the people looking at me. I make sure I always wave to anybody I see, and love to leave people with a smile on their faces.

now the sun's finally come out i've started doing the 'hold down the unlock button & the windows open as you approach the car' trick. That's so cool!

getting into the car with the frameless windows down makes it feel really special & almost feels like getting into an open top

on the subject of convertibles the roadster version looks v nice. The normal convertible they're bringing out soon IMO is not so nice.

I was just talking to a friend about the "demographic" of lookie-loo's that always spot me in the MCS.

Construction / Contractor guys in thier company trucks = ALWAYS (maybe they tend to be car guys more often)

Men in BMW's = ALWAYS

Woment in BMW's = almost never (they seem to drive like someone told them they have the best car and nothing else matters IMHO)

Audi Drivers = about 80% of the time

Hybrid car drivers = %80 of the time (I guess the smallness factor wieghs in with them)

MOM with kids in SUV's = ALWAYS (the kids often point out the car to mom)

Guys in classic muscle cars = almost never (although I did get a lot of looks driving through a parkinglot recently where a small muscle car show was going on - the guy with the new prowler almost fell over to check out the the mini before I passed)

What I would call the average econobox drivers (honda accord, saturns, nissan altima, etc.) = almost Never

New porsce drivers = never

older porsce drivers = %80 of the time

The only other group I have significantly noticed is - guys my age (under 30 - over 24) driving old junkers = ALWAYS

I am sure its different in other parts of the US let alone the world but thought it was interesting nonetheless.

well, I went into McDonalds last night parked my mini outside and was stood in the queue. Some girl comes back inside after leaving demanding to know whos cooper s is outside. After everyone had turned round and she shouted her question again at which point I answered. She then stood beside me up to the counter telling me how it was her dream car and that she has one in her virtual garage, next asks me if I'd take her for a spin (no pun intended). I'd never seen this girl before in my life.

next she asks the woman who was serving me "do you know what car he drives?"... in the end she walked out and when I got out to my car she was stood starring at it. I thought she was going to jump in it when I unlocked the doors. scary.

A new I'd get a little attention in my new car but this, I was a little red to say the least.

I have to agree with that Tommy.. so far the only thing wrong with his story is that he was at a McDonald's

My favorite recently was when I stopped at a red light next to four guys in a majorly modified Honda sedan. The guys in front had their seats raked way back, and their music was pounding.

The driver took a lonnnng look at my MCS -- back and forth and up and down -- then he looked at me and gave me a big thumbs up.

That's a pleasant contrast to the 20 somethings in stock VW's, Audis, BMW's, etc who seem to feel the need to race me. I love it when I'm about to get onto Storrow Drive with them. That's a very windy h'way that runs along the Charles River in Boston. They can sometomes stay with me in the curves, but they look pretty nerous about it.

Storrow Drive is exactly the kind of road the MCS is made for

Then again.. so is any road
