Offline | When we bought our first new MCS 3 years ago, the salesman just handed me the key to the brand new JCW MCS demo car they had and said 'take it out for an hour or so if you like'. I went on a 40mile round trip. Nice and laidback approach, thumbs up to Tice Mini in Dorchester Best Regards Roland GT Tuning ![]() |

Offline | Don't know about the UK, but in the US they don't use someone else's car for a test drive. They have test drive cars specifically for that purpose and when they get sold they get sold as a dealers demo. So it's never a case of test driving someone else's new MINI. |

Offline | When I was 20 I went for a test drive in a MCS and MCC as they didnt have any MSCS's in, at Sytner in Nottingham. In fact I have never even been asked for a copy or even a look at my driving licence even though I do have one and it is clean! I was given a good directed route with plenty of twists and the sales lady was even telling me to put my foot down a bit more, I didn't need to be told twice! I think test drives are a massive part of the sales process, who'd spend that much on a car without trying it first? I don't think its the dealer so much as the sales person, you can get a good and a bad sales person in any dealership. |

Offline | I had a similar experience with Sytner City in Stratford. We booked the test drive, and went down and the guy really couldn't be bothered, so dragged his feet, took literally 20 mins to get the trade plates, and then couldn't find the keys. We walked out, I got the managers name and complained about him. It was a gorgeous yellow Cooper S, but unfortunatly they lost out. My Boyf bought a works instead. He was allowed an overnight road test in a fully kitted JCW, and he was only 21 at the time. One off Chilli Red 'ONE' Convertible MODS - |
