Offline | I'm 38. Have owned V8's only since 1995. I did test drive a Cooper S, but not for very long. I'm hoping it will be enough! But if not -- I'm already scoping mods... ![]() Look at that little S car go! [Sold 2/06] |

Offline | Yeah, what's up with those boats? Have you checked your arrival date to see if it's still the same? Checked mine today, and it's slipped a day. agh. ![]() ![]() Look at that little S car go! [Sold 2/06] |

Offline | Well I am 31 and my girlfriend just turned 26 ( the car is for her) we just ordered the S fully loaded at about 7am this morning (1-28-04). It is by far the least HP car I have owned but also the lightest and that really makes up for alot. My current toy is a 71 chevy short bed truck pushing over 425HP out of a super charged vette LT1 but weighs in at about 4k. Looking forward to being impressed ![]() |

Offline | Good deal. Hopefully the "Florida Pause" is built into the travel schedule. Mine definitely slipped a day, but I've seen posts where other boats slipped a day as well... I can handle it. *deep breath* ![]() ![]() Look at that little S car go! [Sold 2/06] |

Offline | Well didn't see a category for my age. Then again it is probably kinda rare for a 16 year old to be getting a MCS. I ordered the IB/W late December and looking at an early March delivery. I guess it goes without saying that this will be my first car. All my friends hype about their cool Civics, but just wait till I pull into the parking lot with my Mini ! Couldn't have asked for a better car. ![]() |

Offline | X-Man, you are one lucky kid. Of course, you'll be missing out when you get older -- no nostalgic stories about the piece of crap first car, etc. Mine was fondly dubbed The Torpedo -- sadly, not in reference to its speed, but rather to its bizarre shape. I could only move up from there, of course! Good luck, and enjoy! ![]() ![]() Look at that little S car go! [Sold 2/06] |

Offline | X-Man first car eh? Cool, I bet you'll have a lot of fun. I'm 19 and my first car is my current 97 Civic Hatchback. I've put more money into that car than what it's worth. It was fun, but that's over. When I turned 18 I got a bike (2003 Honda CBR 600 F4i). I'm over that. I will be selling both in the summer and pick up a MCS. I don't know if I should wait for the facelift 2005 version, or the already great 2004 version. Since this will be my first new car, I hope to keep it for a very long time, that is unless BMW starts to make a new M Coupe, or the Audi S3 rolls to the U.S. Anyways, this is my first post, but i've been reading for months. Eddie. |

| Take me to a corner.. | I'm 23, waiting for an MCS. It'll be my third new car (Corsa 1.6 -> Astra 2.2 -> MCS), so a nice step up in performance I hope - plus getting a new Audi A3 2.0 TDI too which will help make the Mini stand out as a drivers car (more revs, shaper turn in etc). Round here the roads are a great leveller. I did want a JCW MCS initially (and may still have in a couple of years!) and to be honest, I don't expect the standard version to be a huge step up from the Astra in terms of straight line performance but it will be a completely different experience, and a whole lot more fun. A-B, yes, it felt like it would be much quicker, but the straight line performance isn't why I bought one. My view on why Cooper S drivers are generally older than what you might expect is that other cars - such as the Civic Type R or Clio - appeal to more people in the "Playstation Generation". Personally I test drove two Civic Type Rs but felt they only had a few tricks - you only enjoyed the experience was when the VTEC kicked in and everything got very loud! - but I wanted a car that offered far more (and I guess the "older" age groups look for the same). |

Offline | I'm 19 too. Just ordered my mcs last week. I've had two other vehicles previously. First was an 87' Nissan pickup...That thing was no truck, it was a cruck. Then I moved and got a 2000 hyundai accent. Decent car, but not enough power, not was it luxurious by any standards (well, maybe compared to a camel or horse...go amish!). I've since moved back and my sister will be getting my accent. The MCS will be my first new car as well, so I'm very excited, naturally. One of my sister's friends got a new Cooper for her birthday, lucky kids with parents willing to shell out mad cash to buy them their first car. No such luck for me. Got to learn things the hard way and earn everything I've gotten. But, it's rather humbling, and makes you appreciate the things you have more. It's funny someone should mention the M Coupe. Had they been more readily availible (or even the z3 coupe) I would have probably picked one of those up instead of the mini. If the price, and insurance was right of course...which I'm sure it wouldn't be. Such is the life of a sub 25 year old male in the united states. |

Offline | I am 19 at the moment but will be 20 when my MCS arrives. I have gone from a Peugeot 106 1.1 to a Saxo 1.1 to a MCS (due in March).I have driven quite a few fast cars but nothing I have driven is as fast from A to B as a MCS and the styling IMHO makes the MINI the nicest looking car on the road. The only downside is the sleepless nights ![]() |
