England How common are MCS's?

Driving home to Brighton last night in Horsham West Sussex, in my DS/B
Cooper S, past one exactly the same going other way and then
10 secs later another waiting at a junction ! three DS/B 's
within 100 yds!

Does anyone know how many are being made anually? I thought
that only 4000 MCS's were scheduled to be produced in the first year, not sure where I heard that though. Must be alot in East and West Sussex let alone the rest of the world!

I'm not sure but thought that production was 20,000 per year and this was limited bacause Getrag, the makers of the MCS gearbox could only manufacture that amount.

I keep being hounded by a bloke in a red/white cooper though....

I still think it's pretty cool to have an MCS as they aren't everywhere yet.
I am just starting to think about speccing up my new S (due July) and am getting that excited feeling again......

I own a BRG/B MCS and haven't yet seen another one in that colour however I have seen quite a few MCS's but then I do live near a mini garage. Most of them are EB or DS though.

I believe they were limiting them but they may have changed their minds??

I have heard a rumour that they might be producing more than they originally planned to.

But I still do not see that many around here.....

OK I meant JCW

I work next door to a dealer and also live close to another one and still don't see too many MCS on the roads, which is a good thing in my books. At least it's not as common as a TT or Boxter
...and those M3s, they're as common as Zafiras around here

I was driving through Hollywood yesterday when I came up behind my twin, another PS/B MCS.

The guy driving was pretending so hard he couldn't see me. I guess not everyone is pleased at seeing the car becoming more "common".

There are still not that many MINIs around LA, but now I many see 4 or 5 in a day if I'm driving around town, where 6 month ago I might have seen one.

I can say one thing, honestly, in this car crazed city full of very expensive automobiles I still get far more atttention in the MINI than I could have imagined.

Whenever I show up at the studio people come out to gawlk at the car. The guards inform me there are people looking at it all day long. I have had countless people (many of whom I don't even know) show up in my editing room to ask about the MINI. It has been kind of fun, especially since the lot is full of $100k plus cars that people don't even give a second glance.

Even the valets (without ever having been asked) put up cones especially to save a prime spot for the MINI, and will even pull out other cars to make sure it has one of the most protected parking spots.

It is too funny

Everybody loves this car

Where abouts in Yorkshire were you? I was up near Pickering at the weekend in my DS/DS MCS having a real blast around the roads now it's finally run in. Saw loads of MINIs (mostly Coopers, didn't see any other S's) with the drivers obviously having the same idea. The road through the centre of the Moors (A164 169 ?) from Whitby to Pickering really was a treat though the wife didn't appreciate the two really tight bends.

Though that is the wife who, later that day when she was having a turn in the hot seat, came out of a roundabout, put her foot to the floor and said, "Something's wrong with the car, it seems to be stuttering."

"That'll be the rev limiter.", I replied as I leaned over to see the redline being made good use of

This is the self-preservation society
