Help...

Can anyone tell me what 'Convenient opening lock' means?

It is one of the programmable memory options which the dealer can program for me before I collect my S on Sunday.

It is listed upder the 'WINDOW REGULATOR/SLIDE/TILT SUNROOF' section on the list and can either be 'active' or 'not active'. The factory default is 'not active'.

I asked the salesman what it was but he didn't know...

I need to know what it is before Friday afternoon so that I can get it activated if needs be before the workshop closes for the weekend.

Well, I searched the forum (after posting this message...) and I think it might be the same as the 'Comfort Opening' when holding down the unlock key, but for the unlock toggle switch in the car.

Does this sound right???

Same thing... you can have it via the key in the lock, via the remote, or both (depending on your car). Check the FAQ on 'what memory options...' in the FAQ & DIY section (button up above these posts).

Oh, and I think it's pathetic your MINI dealer doesn't know this!

Hi Paul

I read that FAQ before I posted but I couldn't see an explanation of what 'Convenient opening lock' actually means. It might be that I just missed it but I did read it a few times.

The dealer thought it was the same thing as comfort opening which it 'sort of' is, but via a different button, so they were half right.
