| The Power Cube | Original It must be said that with all of the MINIs I have seen being modified in one way or the other it can't help me from remembering that VW advert of the cars crying from the headlights because people would not leave them alone - e.g. fluffy dice, aerofoil, sun strip etc... I think in a few years time it will be more distinct to own an unmodified MINI. I'm just glad I have a new MCS fully speced (without sunroof or sat nav) that I'll be leaving "as-is" for its forseable future.... TTFN. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |

| MINI2 Master | I think maybe the subset of MINI owners who reside on this board are not indicative of the larger proportion of MINI owners. The people who frequent this board are most likely more nutty about their car than usual and like to discuss many things about it, including modifying. The much larger majority of people who don't come here and don't care quite as much as their cars would more than likely just keep their cars normal and then sell them after a few years. So in other words I still think modified cars will still be far in the minority when taking a consensus of the total MINI owners out there. Of course I'm not saying that everybody who DOES NOT visit this board don't care about their cars as much as we do, so I apologize in advance if I ruffled any feathers of those that never visit this forum. ![]() |

| SOME THINGS ARE BEST LEFT ALONE.... I have always thought of modify a car to be more peronalising it. Just adding your own touch of individuality to it. Just like you would wear a coat or have your hair cut in a certain way. You will always find people who have a pudding basen hair cut whilst others will dye thier hair the various colours of the rainbow. Generally speaking more people follow the "norm" and fit in with the majority while there will always be those that like to add thier own touches. Theres nothing wrong with either, just some people wnat to have thier own personal statement. Personally I like to make subtle changes (ie. wheels etc) to make the car my own, then agin have a look in the off topic section and you may get your own answer about what I have just written. J. |

Offline | Who cares - they won't know ![]() The people who have pudding bowl hair cuts most probably don't choose to drive Mini's - which already stand out from the crowd, before being personalised. The great thing with personalising is when people say: "Yes, he's done that nicely, or chosen that spec well" - rather than just saying "Yup, that car has everything possible - big deal" ![]() David 2003 Mini Cooper S - DS/B |

Offline | It is normal to make anything more personalized. Did you keep your house painted the same color as the previous owners? I bet not. You got your car in the color you wanted with the accessories you wanted... Is that really original? Battleship Grey Metallic/B/B MCS with every option known to man/BMW less CD changer and NO car problems. |
