| MINI2 Regular | Another Happy New owner! Hey guys. guess what, here is another one of those brand new owner post! and this time it is ME, so yes, celebrate with me. I put my name down on the waiting list March 02, spot came up oct 02 but didn't order one yet becuase of my school require me to go work out of state, and out of country for half a year. Well, finally ordered 3/1/03, born 5/16, left southamptom 5/22, arrive CA 6/17, speed thru VDC somehow and got to dealer 6/22. And the dealer took 2.5 days (very long for only two things, but they told me they had some problems) to install some accessories.. and finally, i got it today. I"m SO happy. Thank you guys ... for keeping me well informed of all the good and bads during these months of agonizing wait. I wouldn't recommand this kinda torture to anyone, but i glad that is behind me now. Good to see you guys out there and remember to smile when i see you on the road. Offline | Re: Another Happy New owner! Noopd- Congratulations!!! It sounds like you just got your car at the same dealer I'm going thru; and you're about a month ahead of me! My (all-red) MCS was noted as being "In-Transit" on 6/25; so, if I add up your numbers (5 weeks total, from "in-transit" to "pickup"), I should be picking up my car on July 31. I'll be looking for you on the Freeway; you don't see many MCS's in LA, even today. Did you have any problems with the car (dents, scratches, errors in "options") when you picked it up? So far I've been pretty satisfied with LB MINI; despite the fact that my car has been on order for an entire year (7/23/02). Again, congratulations, and enjoy your "S"! ...David-MCS |

Offline | Re: Re: Another Happy New owner! Actually, I see quite a few MCS's in LA. Depends on what part you drive. In Pacific Palisades, I see atleast 3 MCS's every day. In Santa Monica, I saw 4 of them in 1 hour--one of them with handicap plates. In Arcadia, they are pretty plentiful. I'd say the ratio of MC to MC/S is much more MC's, but I'm certainly not disappointed to be getting an MC! ![]() Congrats! A year is a loooooong time to wait. |

| MINI2 Regular | hey LA people, yeah, LB mini has been pretty good. my only complaint so far was that they took a long time installing my driving lights and white tail lights. And they are always busy, and they are pretty hard to get a hold of sometimes, but i really don't blame them. Well, I don't think I saw any scratches on the car upon delivery. Not much problem with the car so far, but the clutch need a little of getting used to, especially the first couple days you got your car, becareful starting and stoping when going uphill. My car was 4 days old yesterday and I already put in 650+ miles on it. It's been a blast. Went to a run with some socal M5's yesterday with UCSDxBoi (thanx for inviting me!). See pic: http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/Albu...a=30747450&f=0 I got a very small chip on the windsheild already but it was okay, not unexpected. I drove it pretty rough thru the curves and I know i used both ABS and DSC already :P Another small problem that I have is that the right front speaker on the bottom of the door rattles with the bass, so I need to take it back to fix that. It's been fun and i can't wait for the break-in period to be over. Regarding to LA's mini sighting, it totally depends on where you live. In Fullerton, I don't see any at all, and very seldom in orange county in general. But there are A LOT in santa monica/malibu. I have seen as much as 12 minis a day around there. I used to live in arcadia too, but I don't go back there often so I don't know. Hang in there DAVID-MCS. it's almost here. your car will be here in no time ![]() (now i can say that... but i'm pretty sure it doesn't feel that way to u) Last edited by noopd : Jun 29th, 2003 at 03:42 PM. |

Offline | Congrats Noopd! I originally placed my MC order from LB MINI, but after waiting a month, and finding out that I probably wouldn't get a production number for several more months, I cancelled it and placed my order with RoadShow MINI in Memphis, TN, thanks to a tip from Technomage. The same day I put down a $500 deposit (the day I called them), I got a production number, and I'm set for the July 18 manufacturing week. Of course, now I get to enjoy a cross country drive from Memphis to Los Angeles, but hey that's why we buy these cars. To do some serious driving! ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | hey richardlin, that will be a long drive, and u have to drive under 90mph to break it in too.. are you sure you can avoid the temptations of breaking the "break-in" procedure? (although i must admit i already broke the rule, but only shortly) The trip will be fun i'm sure. but i think you can have them ship the car here too, to a nearer dealer or to your home.. maybe that's a better way? |

Offline | Actually, I've got clients in Nashville I'm going to meet up with, then my wife and I are going to take a nice vacation visiting all the states on the way back. Sure, I could have paid $1,000 to ship it back, but I'd rather put that in gas, my insurance premium, and take a nice vacation! |
