Believe it or not I really like the space cloth seats now. In the pictures they looked pants but they've really grown on me as have the X-lites.

To me a basic S is the way to go. It's every bit a Cooper S, if not more, than a fully loaded one.

At the end of the day the handling and the 163BHP come as standard.

LMB, that does make a lot of sense as you would have a very light fast car that would be quicker than the rest.
Not sure what the basic weight of the car is, but with loads of options it must weigh it done quite a bit!

OI!!! I'm a trained accountant too and I still say go for the S. It's the correct economic choice
It took me about 0.001secs to choose between paying off some of the mortage or going for an S.

Martin, remember tomorrow is Saturday. You won't forget to give your dealer a call today now would you?

You made the right economic choice, now it's time for the right aesthetic choice...

I'm actually going down to the dealer tomorrow to sign all the paperwork and to FINALISE my order for DS/B
Although yesterday I bought GT Concept and the Cooper S in it is fantastic. When I was awarded the car it showed a DS/W, I laughed so much... I must say though it looks fabulous and it even has white X-lites which I think look better then the silver ones

That DS/w on GT Concept was obviously a sign from a higher power Martin, you're the chosen one Can't just ignore that....

Serious, fair enough Martin I do think the DS/b is an awesome combo

I give up now and will suspend my endeavors, I can't blame my self for not trying....you have my blessing

Cheers Q, we've had fun bantering on this topic. Isn't that what it's supposed to be all about
At least I know that now I've got my DS/W on my playstation to cruise around in whenever I get fed up of my black roof

Are you getting you S next week before you go on holiday or are you going to wait until you return? You've managed to remain very calm these last few weeks

I'm in therapy and the doctor prescribed me some tranquillizers

Called my dealer yesterday, the car can arrive at the importer any moment now. Then my dealer has to pick it up and get it ready. I also decided to add the MINI alarm to it, since they broke in my Pug right in front of my house last week. Factory fit the alarm would have cost me euro 422 (+/- GBP 270). Dealer fit it costs me euro 675 (+/- euro 432, due to the extra labour).

Because of the holidays my dealer couldn't prepare my car before August 15. I'm leaving next Friday and will return on Tuesdaynight the 20th. Think I will never be so homesick as on this holiday, I'm gonna be a real pain in the @ss for Annemarie . So I will be at my dealer on Wednessday the 21st at 7.00 am to pick it up. Took the rest of that week off, so will probably have run it in by Sunday
PS I can see it next week when my dealer has picked it up.

You are the exception to the rule Martin, you know that old boring reputation accountants have !!

Im a Quantity Surveyor originally, and our reputation for excitement in our profession isnt much better !

Still, we do choose exciting cars !

QQQ, long wait for your car, but as most people look forward to annual holidays, you will be looking forward to finishing them !!

Dont bore your GF by rattling on about the car when you are away !!

Enjoy that car, and thanks for your input !

I just can't decide which pack to get!!

Firstly I thought the Coiffeur Pack was for me, with Gel baths instead of Cupholders, back seats with sinks built into the rear shelf and a magazine rack in the front passenger well. I was going to specify the dash mounted clipper socket, but BMW quoted a delivery of 6 years and it would cost an extra £450 UKP.

Then on a re-think, I wondered whether or not that was for me. A friend of mine bought an MCS with the Gay DJ Pack, you know, the one with the turntables on the offside rear seat and PVC headphone holders. I just lurrved those zebra patterned alcantara look seats, too. Apparantly BMW have a special offer with this pack, where if you pay a one off fee of £100 you get fresh Panzies delivered daily. ooooh, I'm sooo excited. Oops, I've gone and wet myself.

Anyway, so far I've managed to get the cost down to £105,000 but BMW recon that it will be easier to resell if I opt for the beige with brown vinyl roof ala Austin Princess, but the Vinyl is an extra £23.50.

Decisions, decisions...

It'll probably be quicker for you to tell use what you haven't gone for than what you have.
