Offline | If I was looking to save a few notes I'd ditch the full leather too, the half leather IMO is perfectly acceptable ![]() It's a pure luxury item whereas your other options have more of a purpose. Offline | overpriced options Sat Nav - get a map (or palm Pilot) Full Leather - half is fine* Parking control - what !!! on a MINI Multi Func Wheel - Hmmmm.. not for the money Auto Climate control.... Air Con is good enough These are just a few of my favourite unecessary options... None of the above will be recognised in the re-sale value, Leather might make the car "more" saleable - but will not add to the price - especially as the MC S will be a premium 2nd user car anyhow - particularly given the price I got for my MC 2 weeks ago... * Leather - I thought about this long and hard - having got it (& loved it) in my existing car. Deciding factors were:- It is pricey for what it is + Factory Leather is often dodgy - you have no control + I was instantly swayed by half leather with Satalite cloth. Above all - remember this is a MINI not a Bentley. Worgy I've got the dammn thing, I love it and it's a right little stonker... Due date: 5 th Sept 2002 MINI Cooper S DS/Blk,17",DSC + Chilli 1/2 Leather + Satalite cloth Lapis Blue, Head Air bags, Xenon lights, Trip Computer, CD player, First aid kit & triangle !! |

Offline | I would only go for half leather if I could still have a contrasting colour ie blue or hopefully in the near future red. With my current car I went for full leather mainly because the only option left due to it being Indi Blue was black cloth. Im really happy with the full leather and am deffinatly glad I went for it. If in your position however to save a bit of cash I would definatly consider blue/black or the future red/black combo. This is mainly due to the fact the blue satalite cloth looks much better than the tartan option with the Cooper. plus you get blue carpets which helps even more. The climate control/auto air con is another option I have currently, and again im really glad I paid the extra £230 for it it is much more versitile than the manual air con. For starters it isn't just a better air con option it is also extremelly useful in the winter to be able to control the temperature by a degree at a time and not have to fiddle around with it as once it reaches the desired temperature it automatically keeps it there. I personally would go for the CR/W combo although it is something I avoided when specing my Cooper I think it really works on the S plus DS/W and DS/B in the Cooper S's case will be much more common due to it being an exclusive S colour. Another thing I would add to your spec would be the OBC I've had a couple of courtesy cars since buying my Cooper that had this option and I really regret not having it. In summary My spec based on what you have suggested would be: CR/W Chili pack Auto Air Con upgrade Half leather with red cloth or full R/B leather if available (hopefully acompanied by red carpets!!) CD+Boost / Changer Prep OBC TLC about £16500 (without full leather) At the end of the day its your car but the above spec is what I would go for. The only thing I would change personally is from CD to MD cause if you get a changer at a later date you will have both MD and CD formats just a thought ![]() MINIless since 2nd of June @12:35pm 2003 Last edited by ScottyHP : Aug 13th, 2002 at 07:20 AM. |

Offline | I think most people get to the point of "I've fixed my spec - and I don't care now"... too much choice and info is confusing at times... Chilli Red is a top colour - Personally I'd take White roof/mirrors - my MC was this scheme - dealers said it was easier to sell as such - being in the "traditional" colours. Whilst I am DS/B - and fixed specs now, I would change to DS/white if possible - due to the (wish I'd seen it sooner) black roof heat feature... Worgy I've got the dammn thing, I love it and it's a right little stonker... Offline | Fraid not... this was my most borderline decision tho... Decided Air Con was enough, SunRoof extra cash - quite pricey. have heard horror stories re: Roof fits and leaks. But prehaps more importantly - did not miss it in the MC, and was taken by quite how light the MINI interior is with all that glass anyway.... I am feeling somewhat smug - having got my (IMHO) perfectly specced MC S for GBP 16.5 k (all in inc delivery etc).. given the 20k spec's I have seen... as stated before..they are great cras - but not a bentley.... Ohhh also - now exactly 1 month to arrival..... Worgy I've got the dammn thing, I love it and it's a right little stonker... Offline | What about TLC worgy? wooops - sorry missed that.. yes of course TLC... this was one of the prime reasons to go for the MINI.... Not being a fan of BMW (love the cars - hate the idea / image).... anything that is likely to cost BMW money ahs to be good... they have to take a loss on this... besides - great for re-sale... Worgy I've got the dammn thing, I love it and it's a right little stonker...
