Offline | Evening All...... Well I survived my Ferrari challenge......great couple of hours.......not worth the £250 tbh, but then I paid less than half that...... Prestwold Hall is a great circuit, a bit like Hethel in it's layout, with a good mixture of slow and fast corners...... Rode for 4 laps with an instructor who I thought looked and sounded like JK......did a double take initially..... Then did 4 laps in a Scooby to sight lines through corners and get the feel of track driving. Then jumped into a 550 Marenello for 4 laps, handled very tidily for what is a 2 tonne car, bet the brakes suffer though......max'd that at 120mph. Then a break and into a 360 Spyder........very little flywheel effect, and completely different from the 550, much more taught, and less roll in the corners.....only managed 135mph in that, oh and I had the traction control activating through one corner at 100+mph....... Got scored at 96% on my driving, comments such as "very smooth", and "great braking control" were highlights of my instructor report...... he did ask if I drove a RWD car..... ......hmmmm maybe I should get the Elise now........wifey's Meriva felt a bit slow on the drive into Nottingham...... All in all, a great two hours.......just got to plan when I do my "free" drive at Donnington Park...... ![]() |

| Heading down the aisle | Chris, The guy who bought the bus (the Pratt Collection???? ), also bought this: Per the Barrett-Jackson website, it's a "1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special Motorama designed by GM legend Harley Earl.", and would have toured with the bus (or one of its mates). The car went for $3.024 million. ![]() |

Offline | And these were some pics the missus snapped during the action......mainly in the paddock as you can see...... This was just as I'd finished my 4 laps in the 360..... Out of these I drove all except the Gallardo, which sounded fantastic! As you can see, my lad was well chuffed at being allowed inside the 550......and he only beat me by 31 years! |
