what do you guys think... http://www.mini2.com/forum/faults-fi...g-air-con.html

Is this on your MCS or 1er?

Do you run the a/c on 100% of the time.

If you don't I'd hazard a guess that it's trapped condensation in the heating ducts. If there is sufficient water the a/c cannot de-humidify it quickly enough, and when it does the water will vapourise. All of this would be irrespective of the setting that the heater was set on.

Best solution is just to leave it on all the time.

I've seen a few ex-Thorne cars on MINI Cherished that are reasonably specc'd and low mileage for the right kind of money.

The downside is they seem to have taken a bigger hit depreciation-wise than the equivilent 2dr cars.

My gut feeling is that they are a proper "niche" car and and such may be harder to sell on later.

Practicality-wise one would offer a bit more room, passenger & boot wise, so may end being of more use than a std 2 dr MCS.

Any thoughts?

Not driven a Clubman MCS, but have had a Cooper version for the day. I thought it was ok, but interestingly all of my work colleagues without exception thought it was awful. So I wonder if it is a bit of a Marmite car...

Having said the above I am tempted to get a factory works clubman just to have something a bit different...

Good news Paul... Had some bother with the Abbey at the beginning of the year and ended up getting a good deal with the Ulster Bank (Owned by RBS) - 0.26% above BoE base rate with no fees or tie ins I'll never go back

Driven sensibly the fuel consumption on the MCS is pretty good....obviously if you have some fun it drops off a bit, but it is nowhere near as low as the old MCS all IMHO of course...

That's a great rate you got there.
I'm in the market for a new mortgage and the best out there at the moment is Barclays with 0.74% above base

Must admit until today, I'd not considered one, perhaps I need to borrow one for a day and see what I think.

Have to say I was most disappointed with the Dooper I had for 24hrs. I was a lot more impressed with the MCS I then drove afterwards.

Looks like I'd better wander down to Central sometime to take a look-see......

That is SO on my radar.

Followed a normal 500 with the chrome pack. It looks like a slim MINI from there rear. Chrome detailing is way too similar to the MINI....

It means I have to pay a £10/month fee for there special current account, but it pays for itself many times over. It was by far the best I could find at the time and they got everything transfered in less than 2 weeks plus they paid all my fees Abbey were going to take longer just to move onto a different product

Have a look at RBS with royalties gold current account... should be very similar

EDIT: just had a quick look and seems they changed things again
