My New Cooper S (Indi Blue/Indi Blue/Lapis Blue)

Blue is the colour......

So far all I've done is put in my MINI2 Whalen Shift Knob and added a Richbrook anti-theft antenna.

Toppo Paul .

The handbrake/gearstick stuff looks good too. I see you didn't opt for climate control. I'm happy I didn't either. The standard a/c works just fine.

I've now removed the silly cubby hole/shin bashing device and installed the useful parcel shelf.

The blue leather grip/knob and gaiters are MINI options, although the blue leather knob has now been replaced with my MINI2 whalen shift knob (which is in those pictures).

Yank off old piece (two clips at the top, hinged at the bottom) screw on new piece (two torx screws, pressed on at the bottom) job done. There's a piece linked from the 'how to remove interior bits' FAQ.

You need two torx screws, the 'clips' the screws go into, and the mat, along with the shelf itself. They all come up together on the parts CD. Minty could probably sort you out with all the right bits, or at least give you the right part numbers.

Paul,

nice looking motor. I thought about blue then went for the DS/B. I have the Lapis blue interior though which looks great. Man the whalen does look good, that will have to be my first mod.

Perhaps we should start a poll, how long before it's washed. I lasted a week.

Darksman, I VERY much doubt it will be a week for the first wash!

OK, I've now installed my Philips Vision Plus H7 bulbs (for the 'high' beam, I have Xenons already for the main beam), I had these on my last 'S' and they DO improve the lights a lot when you need full beams on at night. I've also installed the Philips Silver Vision Indicator bulbs which is purely cosmetic, they look a lot less 'orange' than the standard orange indicators.

Paul,

The trouble is I usually hate washing the car, but I must say that I derived a hugh amount of pleasure from getting the S clean again

The Philips bulbs, are they a direct replacement? and are they noticably better? The reason I ask is that I am impressed by the Xenons and then always faintly disapointed when the high beam seem a little weaker in comparison.

How quick are you at these mods?? a new mod every 10 mins.. impressive

Oh yeah one other thing, you should take your own advise and remove your licenceplate.

I like washing the MINI, the first wash is like a 'bonding session' too, you get to see all the car properly!

The bulbs are a direct, easy replacement, and they do make a good improvement, I was not happy with the high beams compared to the Xenons, and Zoooooom (MINI2 member from Scotland) advised I fit the Philips bulbs, and I never looked back!

I'm done on mods for now, the other bits I have lying around are all a little trickier to install!
