Offline | CR/W darker in Real Life - Why??? I have a MCS on order and like everyone change my mind about colour every week. At the moment I am either going for IB/W or CR/W but after seeing a UK 51 plate Cooper at the dealer at the weekend I am unsure on the CR. Why does the CR cars in all the MINI catalogues/people pics look much 'brighter' than in real life?? I have only seen ONE/Cooper models 'in real life' that are CR but they do not match those in the MINI catalogues. Is there a difference in more recent CR cars than the early ONE/COOPER in the same colour?? If I go for CR I would like a 'bright' colour like the original mini. From the one I saw it looked more like a dark red than Chilli.. Help!!! |

Offline | Not sure I see the difference, remember the catalogue pics are professional productions caught in ideal lighting conditions. They are shot in fantastic sun and polished, prepared and pampered to the extreme. I think I have got close to the sales stuff after I have used meguiars polish and wax, cleaned the wheels to within an inch of their life and gone over it all again. Same applies to women on shampoo adverts, they have their hair washed, waxed, treated about 20 times before they are allowed near a photo. (They dont just wash and go and then get their photo taken, as if!) |

Offline | The Chili Red colour presentation is certainly down to the light conditions. My C/R Cooper never compared exactly to any of the brochures but still looked very good. It is a superb colour to polish and I would have no hestiation going back to CR/W colour combo in the future. ![]() |

Offline | I would have to agree with you about the color looking different in pics, but after having my 2004 CR/W MCS for a little over a week now I would have to say it looks much better in person. The red is much deeper looking in person, & every person who has seen the car absolutely loves it! Deffinatelly go for the CR/W, you won't be sorry! 2004 Chili Red/ White MCS w/ white bonnet stripes |

Offline | As you can see from Restyle's sig picture (apologies for pinching it) some Chili Red can look brighter than others. My car, the CR/CR, is roughly the same colour as red03miniS's car, and looks a lot brighter than the other reds I see (including my wife's car, the CR/B parked next to it). MCS JCW CR/CR ; MOD LY/B |

Offline | I've had my CR/W on order for a couple of weeks and I have to confess that I sometimes wonder if it was the right colour to choose and then when you see one in the flesh you just know you made the right choice. I just have to order those bonnet stripes. |

| MINI2 Regular | It's commonly believed that red is the prime cop catcher color. Actually that's not true. The prime eye grabber is, ta da -- Yellow, followed by White. If I remember exactly (which I don't) red is something like # 4 or 5. If you're really worried about those flashing lights in your rear mirror get a dark silver/black. Kinda like highway camo. ![]() 2004 Chilli Red MCS/ White. Cordoba Leather Interior. Sport, premium, cold package, driving lights, & stripes. ![]() visit us at USBLUESTATES.COM |

Offline | well i know yellow is the hottest color for cops to watch, i have a yellow suzuki gsxr 750 however, with the dull yellow mini color, i wonder if they would ever get noticed and i am not worried about the flashing lights, i drive like a grandma and silver/black is too common ![]() 2003 CR MCS and 2007 CR MCS (on order) |

Offline | I have had my CR/W MC for over a month now and the only time a cop has "noticed" me was to wave at me as I passed, maybe a MINI fan? But I know this area pretty well, so I can adjust my speed when I am coming into an area where there might be a copper! |
