| AWOL | suppose it depends on wether thats city or motorway miles, mine needs a fill up today and its showing 270 miles done on this tank and about 30 miles left on the range.... if you fill up as soon as the warning light comes on I would have got about 240 miles... how many litres do you put in when you fill it up ? |

| 169! I thought mine was bad. I get about 220miles with about 40 left on the range using Optimax. Thats with quite a lot of city driving and a relatively heavy right foot... ![]() |

| AWOL | bloody hell !.... is that all stop start motoring ?, if not you want to get back to your dealer and have them take a look at it.... I must admit I have a heavyish right boot, but my commute is fast motorway/b roads and 25 miles each way to work.... I have seen 340 from a tank on a long run.... |

Offline | The day I had an S for a test-drive, I got somewhere about 180 on a tank, but that was with a complete concrete right foot. I'll let you know when I get my S, but I'm expecting 25-30 mpg. |

Offline | Best 36mpg on a long motorway journey with cruise on at 80. Worst 20mpg driving from mine to my parents (26 miles of short fast sections broken with roundabouts and traffic lights, hot footing it) Average 25-28mpg over a few weeks of all types of driving. MCS with 13k miles on the clock. |

Offline | I get approx 480 km (approx 300 miles) from a single tank of Optimax 98 RON in my Works MCS ... at least half of that is highway driving but I've yet to notice a considerable difference in fuel consumption between urban and open road ... it would also be fair to say that fuel economy is generally not a consideration of mine when driving I would think with a conservative driving style on the open road it might be possible to get close to 600 km from a tank but that would be pushing it ... personally I try to avoid running the car completely dry, you never know what is at the bottom of the tank (maybe its an urban myth but I've always been told that over time crap tends to accumulate at the bottom of the tank and therefore avoiding running to empty reduces the chance of sucking anything bad into the engine) |

Offline | OK, my S has 11.5K miles, economy (and power) seem better now than when new. without aircon (auto) usually about 29 mpg with aircon....about 26-27 mpg round Knockhill track...12 mpg (but well worth it!) with featherlight right foot and long run.....34mpg....(NOT worth it!) so overall, summer...grippy fun, aircon on,....26mpg winter, aircon off, dsc off, sliding about fun 29mpg all on the crappy pirelli 17" runflats, lets see what the toyos do having just fitted them . DocT Cooper S DS/B (of course), Chilli, Auto Air, Full Leather, Roof, etc etc + Chrome-Design Pack / whelan shift machine / Origin B2 / TOYO NON-RUNFLATS :-))) Fastest Housecalls in the NHS! |

Offline | 169 seems really low. I get an average of 30. With a high of 35.3 for a long 70 mph interstate trip, a low of 22 after "running it in". Usually I am showing over 300 before I fill up. |

Offline | I get 160-180 if I use a full tank driving around London. It's impossible to get it higher, its start-stop all the time ![]() As soon as I hit the motorway and do some decent mileage away from the smoke, I'm getting 260+ on a tank, which is what I got when I met up with MINI2 in Milton Keynes the other week. |

Offline | If that's 175 urban, it's probably correct. If that includes long stretches of dual carriageway (no roundabouts!) or motorway then it should be higher ![]() Last edited by beej : Nov 12th, 2003 at 03:25 PM. |
